Greetings!

Our last newsletter of 2015 is coming to you right under the wire, with only hours to spare before the eastern seaboard is launched into year 2016. Whether you have big plans to inaugurate the new year gala-style with a glass or two of Martinelli's sparkling cider (you classy devil!) or whether you're at home watching Trading Places or revisiting a dog-eared copy of Middlemarch and making lists for 2016, make sure "join Sphericality" or "go to barre class at Sphericality" is near-ish the top of that list. And if anyone asks you about your new year's resolutions tonight, punch them in the face. Just kidding, but for real - your resolutions, whether they exist or not, are your business. And - unless you want to share them (for example, I'd like to share that my resolution is to become a person who is not emotionally invested in reality TV) - just know that the Sphericality community will be waiting for you in 2016 to support you with whatever your goals are, whether you want to share them or whether they're yours and yours alone. Let's all remember what Kris Jenner said to Kylie before she got her first lip injections: "Screw your courage to the sticking place and you'll not fail." And now Kylie is super successful. How crazy?

Thank You For a Very Good Year
From the Sphericality Team

There have been quite a few changes this past year, and we want to thank you all for sticking with us through all of our incarnations, iterations and permutations. (A/N: I received a thesaurus for Christmas and am happily putting it to good use.) After all, our studio wouldn't be as awesome as it is if it weren't for you folks. As Fraulein Maria said as she was leaving the abbey in The Sound of Music, "I've always tried to stay true to my authentic self." And that's what we're trying to do, too. So we want to say thank you for letting us try our best. Deep down, we're all just failed nuns trying to sew some play clothes out of the drapes that used to hang in our bedroom so we can bring music to the sad children of Salzburg.

Some highlights from 2015/l'annťpassť/auld lang syne/majQa':
  • Dorian and Amy K Weber brought Tennessee's tap n' pow{h}er to the Garden State
  • In spring, we surfaced and stretched and doused ourselves in glitter with opera singer and yoga teacher, Natalie Levin
  • We had our first Happy Body Project challenge and all of you brought home gold* trophies**
    • *smiley face
    • **stickers
  • Jen Stas happily picked up the glitter gauntlet with I*Sweat*Glitter Yoga all summer long
  • Rocky Schwartz and Sphericality co. along with dynamic drummer Bill Noren stomped the stigma and raised over $1K for Hunterdon County's Chapter of NAMI
  • In between vinyasa glitter baths, Jen Stas taught us how to hang ten in our asanas with Indoor SUP yoga
  • We had our first instagram challenge and now our studio is instagram famous and has millions of followers ! (Just kidding, but it's something to shoot for in 2016, so start snapping.)
  • We moved the whole shebang to the third floor, and then everyone on Main Street thought we closed. We're not closed! We're on the third floor. We moved up - it's like an actual metaphor come to life. Which is so meta or maybe like a synecdoche, but actually kind of different. Whatever we have a killer view now.
  • We have a new website! It's a beaut, and we are still de-bugging.
  • You helped us Burst forth as we launched our newest membership program. Huzzah!
We bid farewell to some awesome teachers and staff members in 2015, and we said hello to some fabulous new ones who stepped in to pick up where they left off. If you attend classes at Sphericality, or if you teach (or if you've ever taught) at Sphericality: we're raising a glass to you this eve. Thank you to all of you who make Sphericality a special place to escape the stressors of the day-to-day, to work-out and reconnect with the parts of you that the outside world tries to quash. Even if you're just randomly on this email list for no reason and you're thinking about unsubscribing because who sends emails out after 7PM on New Year's Eve anyway? Here's to you. Also, what are you doing on this list? But mostly, thank you for being here.

Happy New Year!
We'll see you at the Sphere.
