New Guest Pass Policy

Studio180 members and tenured package clients will receive one guest pass and one BFF 3-day pass every 6 months. We love it when you bring friends and family to classes, but in order to maintain our beautiful facilities and keep our lovely and talented teachers paid, it's important that we make this change. We will have guest passes and BFF passes available for pick-up in the studio office. (Please note that, from now on, guests must have an actual pass with them in order to take a class for free.) Of course, we are always more than happy to consider extra passes for special circumstances.

Greetings!
It's April, and we're nearly halfway through the Happy Body Project studio challenge. Those tally boards are looking awfully bright and happy - so let's take a moment to congratulate all of our fabulous participants on their outstanding commitment this week. You folks are amazing. If you haven't signed up for the challenge yet, please do so!

There is still plenty of time to catch up and join in the fun. Here's how it works:

Step 1. Sign up for a class online (any class!)
Step 2. When you arrive at the studio, write your name down in an empty space on one of the tally boards.
Step 3. Go to class (very important step)
Step 4. After class, collect your color-coded sticker from your instructor and place it in the appropriate category next to your name.
Step 5. Stand back and bask in the glow of your accomplishment. (This is my favorite step.)
Step 6. Repeat steps 1, 3, 4 and 5

That's all there is to it. If you're still not sure about whether or not you want to partake in the challenge, please allow me to share some inspiring words from the 2004 classic film, A Cinderella Story. If Hilary Duff's on-screen dad taught me one thing, it's this: "Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game." Now, go get 'em, champ.

But before you go, please take a few minutes to keep yourself abreast of upcoming special events at Sphericality. We've got lots of splendid and exciting things in store for you. Plus, you'll meet our newest teacher, Kaitlyn Cardona, our teacher of the month, Kelly Cresta, and our client of the month, Andrea Doyle.

Happy reading! We'll see you on the mat.

The Nourish Bowl from McKel of NutritionStripped.com

Cadbury Creme Eggs, Peeps and Jelly Bellies got you down? Here's a recipe to combat your Easter candy-induced pancreatic shock.

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 cups romaine, roughly chopped
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 4-5 roasted brussels sprouts (from batch cooking day)
  • 1 roasted sweet potato
  • ½ cup carrots, shredded or diced
  • ¼ cup cucumber, sliced thinly
  • ¼ of an avocado
  • 3 tablespoons nutritional yeast
  • 3 tablespoons hemp seeds
  • 2 tablespoons hummus (of your choice)
  • fresh squeezed lemon
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • dash of kelp granules
  • dash of cayenne pepper (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Start by filling a large salad bowl with the dark leafy greens.
  2. Next, top with all the remaining vegetables, sweet potatoes, and hemp seeds; piling them in their own "spot" in the bowl (as pictured).
  3. You can arrange each ingredient in a pile and then wait to stir everything together, or you can simply top the dark leafy greens with all the remaining ingredients at the same time and stir thoroughly.
  4. The nutritional yeast + the hummus + the apple cider vinegar makes for a thick and creamy dressing on it's own.
  5. Serve and enjoy!

Special Event Class in May: Restorative Yoga Workshop with Aromatherapy

Bring on the blocks, blankets and bolsters! Join us this May for a special two-hour restorative yoga workshop with Cindy Noren. Restorative
yoga makes use of props to facilitate a relaxing and meditative practice that will leave you feeling refreshed and open. The props will support you as you relax into seated and supine poses for an extended period of time - anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes. This type of practice is an excellent complement to any type of rigorous workout schedule, and it's a delightful and welcome counterpoint to our fast-paced and frenetic lives. Take this time for yourself to reconnect with your body in a peaceful and cozy environment. We'll be sending out a special e-flyer when sign-ups become available. Single reservations are $15 for members and $30 for non-members. Members, please call the studio so we can apply your discount.

Were I able to shut
my eyes, ears, legs, hands
and walk into myself
for a thousand years,
perhaps I would reach
- I do not know its name -
what matters most.

Studio Congratulations
Welcome to the studio the newest member of our team: Kaitlyn Cardona

Kaitlyn is thrilled to be joining Sphericality's team; her enthusiasm for teaching is evident in her practice. She
studied at Honor Yoga and also holds a degree in Psychology, which has given her a unique perspective on the mental and emotional benefits of a meditative practice. Kaitlyn is a firm believer in the importance of breath and alignment, and she often incorporates Sanskrit and yoga philosophy into her practice. Kaitlyn especially loves the way yoga brings people together and looks forward to meeting all of Sphericality's budding yogis and sharing with them her joyful, meditative and dynamic practice.
Welcome to the studio, Kaitlyn!
We are so happy you found us!
