Sphericality's Teacher of the Month:

Congratulations to our March 2015 T.O.M-Girl,
 Alison Levine

Alison is a master of alignment and truth. If you haven't taken a class with her, make a point to do so this March as we honor her dedication and commitment.
Alison is an example of someone who "practices what she preaches."

New Guest Pass Policy

Studio180 members and tenured package clients will receive one guest pass and one BFF 3-day pass every 6 months. We love it when you bring friends and family to classes, but in order to maintain our beautiful facilities and keep our lovely and talented teachers paid, it's important that we make this change. We will have guest passes and BFF passes available for pick-up in the studio office. (Please note that, from now on, guests must have an actual pass with them in order to take a class for free.) Of course, we are always more than happy to consider extra passes for special circumstances.

Greetings!
Happy March! As you may have inferred from the astute philosophy of Beverly Hills Housewife, Brandi Glanville, spring is just around the corner! Although, presently, that corner is very cold and covered with icicles and probably looks like a stage prop from the musical production of Doctor Zhivago. But don't let the frigid conditions deter you - come shake off the chill and get warm with us at Sphericality! Instead of jogging, why not join us at barre for some low-impact, functional fitness? When the warm weather gets here, you'll be glad you did.
We hope you'll take a moment to peruse our latest newsletter. In it, you'll find out more about some of our newest classes, our teacher and client of the month, some healthy St. Paddy's Day snacks, and a very special video message from Amy K Weber, creator of tap n' pow{h}er, as well as a smattering of other new changes happening at the studio.

Meet Patricia Mastroianni

After TRX a few weeks ago, Dorian asked me to write a little about myself. So here goes! I don't have children, but I have a cat (Furry Murry) and a husband (yes dear, we have ketchup. It's on the third shelf...the THIRD shelf!...sigh). We enjoy hiking at Round Valley and the Sourlands and are looking forward to trying some other trails. I love to cook and am always on the hunt for a new recipe. This past year we have decided to hit all of the NJ wineries, and that has been a fun journey we intend to continue. ("Wine Barre"- I'm a genius! I'm going to float that idea for sure.)

Studio Lifestyle

Why not take a page out of Brandi Glanville's book and try one or both of these green smoothies? In keeping with the spirit of St. Patrick's Day and the organic-non-GMO-gluten-free-dairy-free-eco-friendly-vegan-aa health food zeitgeist, here are some healthy alternatives to McDonald's ever-popular seasonal libation, the "Shamrock Shake."
Here's a spin on the classic minty version from Michelle Maskaly, The Adirondak Chick (theadirondackchick.com):
  • 1 1/2 cups So Delicious vanilla bean coconut milk non-dairy frozen dessert
  • 1/2 cup So Delicious coconut milk beverage (add more as need for a thinner shake)
  • 1 six-ounce container So Delicious vanilla cultured coconut milk
  • 1/4 cup creme de menthe
  • 3-4 ice cubes
  • several sprigs fresh mint for garnish
  • Combine all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. Serve in a rocks glass with a fresh sprig of mint as garnish.
For those who aren't fans of mint, here's another green culinary creation that derives its sweetness from fruit sugar, first published in Martha Stewart's Everyday Food magazine: Read more.

Spotlight on our newest classes:

As you may have noticed, we have addewillPower & grace back to our schedule, and the response has been phenomenal. If you haven't yet, come try this mixed level, functional fitness class. It will challenge your

endurance and develop your focus.

Amy K Weber's fitness method, tap n' pow{h}er, is a mixed level balance fusion class that incorporates elements of Pilates, yoga and dance - tap, specifically. The class begins with a guided intention and everyone is encouraged to think of her own positive affirmation. Amy calls this approach "meaningful movement" - these positive affirmations buttress each exercise - each squat, plank, press and stretch. In this way, you engage your mind in a very specific and deliberate way, which invites you to be present in the moment; it's an opportunity to develop the way you listen to your thoughts and your body: "Tap into your power," as Amy says. Read more.
