ATTENTION BOOSTER CLUBS, FOUNDATIONS, PARENT ORGANIZATIONS REQUESTING FUND RAISER APPROVAL

Any approved parent organization that wishes to do a fund raiser must complete a Fund Raiser Application Form for each event each year and submit it to the Principal for approval.  The principal will then forward the form to the Superintendent's Office for the Board of Education's review and approval.  Please submit this form as soon as you know of the fund raiser.  It must be received at least 2 weeks before the next BOE meeting so it can be placed on the agenda for that night.  It would be best to submit it a couple of months in advance so you can make plans for the fund raiser.  Click here for a copy of the form.

GREEN TEAM RECYCLING REMINDER

The Green Team would like to remind everyone to recycle.  There are recycling bins spread throughout the school and the cafeteria.  Please use them!

"The case for recycling is strong.  The bottom line is clear. Recycling requires a trivial amount of our time.  Recycling saves money and reduces pollution. Recycling creates more jobs than landfilling or incineration.  And a largely ignored but very important consideration, recycling reduces our need to dump our garbage in someone else's backyard."

-- David Morris of the Institute for Local Self-Reliance

NHS PEER TUTORING PROGRAM

The National Honor Society members offer an in-school tutoring program for any high school students who need extra help in their classes. Students who need extra help will be matched with a NHS member who will meet them once a week during a shared free period. This weekly meeting will continue as long as the student needing help stays in contact with their matched NHS member. If any student is interested in being matched with a tutor, they are to fill out a form that can be found in Guidance or here and bring it to Ms. Murphy (Room B205). Please contact Ms. Murphy (tmurphy@shsd.org ) if you have any further questions."
