NEW -FARMSTEAD ARTS PROGRAMS
Farmstead Arts Center and the Contemporary Art Group offer a hands-on demonstration, an instructive tour and talks with artists Saturday, Nov. 16 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at Farmstead, 450 King George Road in Basking Ridge. This special, free event, An Afternoon of Art, is designed for those aged 8 to 100 years and requires no art experience, just curiosity and readiness for fun.
Joy Ann Cabones Lara will speak about dance and paintings; artist Gail Winbury will discuss abstract art as visitors tour the exhibition; and Renee Post will describe her evolution as an artist and her two paintings in the exhibition.
After the presentations Cynthia Weiss will demonstrate how to create a trace monotype. Known as transfer drawing, trace monotype is a simple printmaking technique.

HEARTWORKS' PIE FUNDRAISER
1991 BHS Graduate, Cynthia Pereyra Noonan is living with Transverse Myelitis, a rare auto-immune and debilitating disease, which came on suddenly in 2007. She is currently in a wheelchair and is unable to work.
Heartworks is sponsoring a fundraiser to help Cynthia and her family. Please see the attached flyer for details.

HOLIDAY FAIR AT ST. LUKE'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH.
Saturday, Nov 23, 9:00-3:00. The theme this year is "Winter Wonders". The fair includes shopping and activities for the whole family: handcrafted ornaments, hand knit items, floral topiaries and wreathes, home baked goods, frozen gourmet foods, a children's boutique (which allows only youngsters to shop for family and friends at appropriate prices), photos with Santa, and more! Lunch is sold from 11:30 until 1. Admission to the fair is free. All proceeds from the Fair are used to fund mission programs such as the Community Soup Kitchen, Interfaith Hospitality Network, and Houses to Homes . DONATE BLOOD - WIN TICKETS TO SUPERBOWL
The Bernards Township Health Department will conduct a blood drive on Tuesday, November 27th from 2 pm to 7 pm at the Bernards Township Community Center This is in association with the Super Community Blood Drive, a collaboration initiated by the New York/New Jersey Super Bowl Host Committee and blood donation centers in the metropolitan region. Every person who donates blood through these sponsored drives will have the opportunity to win tickets to the Super Bowl XLVIII.
Blood donors need to be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in relative good health. Bring a valid photo ID, wear comfortable clothing and drink plenty of fluids before giving blood.

NEW -BERNARDS TOWNSHIP HEALTH DEPARTMENT HAS RADON TEST KITS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE
The Bernards Township Health Department has reduced-cost radon kits for sale to homeowners. Kits are available for purchase by homeowners at the Bernards Township Health Department located at 262 South Finley Avenue in Basking Ridge. The charge is $10 per kit while supplies last.
Radon is an odorless, tasteless, and invisible gas that occurs naturally in soil. It is produced by the natural breakdown of uranium and radium in rock formations, and occurs in higher concentrations in certain areas of the state, including Somerset County. It is the leading cause of lung cancer in nonsmokers and the second leading cause of lung cancer in general. For smokers, the risk of developing lung cancer is greatly increased if they are also exposed to excess radon. Radon exposure does not result in immediate symptoms, such as asthma or respiratory difficulties rather its effects are experienced later.
