The Bedwell Home School Association is hosting a community Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, October 26th from 3-5pm at the Bernardsville Town Pool parking lot.  Open to everyone! FARMSTEAD ARTS PROGRAMS

Farmstead Arts is a center for fine, performing and practical arts in Basking Ridge. Farmstead Arts offers art classes, workshops, art exhibits, theater, concerts, dance, children's activities and lectures in history and the arts. Local artists utilize the upstairs rooms in the farmhouse for individual studio space.

SOMERSET HILLS YMCA PROGRAMS

 18th Annual International Festival at the Somerset Hills YMCA, Sunday October 27^th from 2-4:30pm. This festive event celebrates the diverse cultures of our community and of the world. The festival will feature music, art, dancing, and cuisine from many different countries. The event is open to the public - all are welcome.

 Recycled Art Contest- Aspiring artists from Pre-K through 12^th Grade are invited to participate in the Recycled Art Contest. The contest is free and open to the community. Entries are due November 1^st. 

NEW - Zumba Spookathon for Teens-Friday, November 1and is open to 7^th & 8^th graders who want to have Halloween fun at the Y.

NEW - Kids Night Out-Friday, November 8 and provides an opportunity for parents to have a night out while their children have fun at the Y.

 Girl Scout Badge Opportunities- The Y offers a series of workshops to assist Scouts in mastering the important skills required to earn a badge.

BRACELETS FOR BREAST CANCER RESEARCH- 

BMS 5th grade students are selling Rainbow loom bracelets to raise money for breast cancer research. 100% of sales will be donated to Curebreastcancerfoundation.org 

Students will make and donate pink rainbow loom bracelets to be sold for the cause! There will be a box in the BMS office and Bedwell lobby to drop off your donated bracelets for the sale. Your child will earn community service hours for making and or selling bracelets. Local retailers will be selling the bracelets for $3. You will be able to purchase bracelets at The Rebecca Collection, Salon Studio, and Penguin Ice Cream throughout the month of October. BERNARDSVILLE AND GLADSTONE UNITED METHODIST CHURCHES COLLECTING ITEMS FOR SUPERSTORM SANDY VOLUNTEERS

During October, as part of the sermon series Why Church, Bernardsville and Gladstone United Methodist Churches will be collecting items needed for volunteers that come to help with Superstorm Sandy recovery efforts as part of the Greater NJ Annual Conference's "A Future with Hope" initiative. These items  include toilet paper, boxes of tissues, paper towels, large cans of Lysol spray, kitchen trash  bags, bathroom trash bags, large trash bags, cases of bottled water, and gift cards to Target or Walmart. Donations can be brought to Sunday worship at Bernardsville UMC (10:30 a.m. at 22 Church Street, Bernardsville) and Gladstone UMC (9:00 a.m. at 3 Jackson Ave, Gladstone), or left on the front porch of the parsonage at Bernardsville UMC throughout the week. Wrestling (with the Raritan Valley Wrestling League) for all age groups --

Registratrion on Monday, November 4 at the Middle School Gym from 6:00-8:00 pm.   Coaches will be available to answer any questions.  Midget practices Tuesday and Thursday nights and Youth practices will be Monday and Wednesdays from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

The Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern New Jersey, in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Health, is launching the second annual "Protect Me with 3" campaign. The purpose of this campaign is to raise awareness about the importance of adolescent immunizations: Tdap vaccine, Meningococcal conjugate vaccine, and HPV vaccine. HEARTWORKS' PIE FUNDRAISER

1991 BHS Graduate, Cynthia Pereyra Noonan is living with Transverse Myelitis, a rare auto-immune and debilitating disease, which came on suddenly in 2007. She is currently in a wheelchair and is unable to work.

Heartworks is sponsoring a fundraiser to help Cynthia and her family.  Please see the attached flyer for details.

HOLIDAY FAIR AT ST. LUKE'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH.

Saturday, Nov 23, 9:00-3:00. The theme this year is "Winter Wonders".  The fair includes shopping and activities for the whole family: handcrafted ornaments, hand knit items, floral topiaries and wreathes, home baked goods, frozen gourmet foods, a children's boutique (which allows only youngsters to shop for family and friends at appropriate prices), photos with Santa, and more!  Lunch is sold from 11:30 until 1. Admission to the fair is free.  All proceeds from the Fair are used to fund mission programs such as the Community Soup Kitchen, Interfaith Hospitality Network, and Houses to Homes . NEW -DONATE BLOOD-WIN TICKETS TO SUPERBOWL

The Bernards Township Health Department will conduct a blood drive on Tuesday, November 27^th from 2 pm to 7 pm at the Bernards Township Community Center This is in association with the Super Community Blood Drive, a collaboration initiated by the New York/New Jersey Super Bowl Host Committee and blood donation centers in the metropolitan region. Every person who donates blood through these sponsored drives will have the opportunity to win tickets to the Super Bowl XLVIII.

Blood donors need to be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in relative good health. Bring a valid photo ID, wear comfortable clothing and drink plenty of fluids before giving blood.
