Hello at home,
New Jersey has designated the week of October 7-11th as Respect Week. Mrs. Davis-Campbell, our Anti-Bullying Specialist, and our own Mrs. Pike have planned a week full of age-appropriate activities for our students to help them understand the importance of kindness and compassion. We look forward to witnessing Bedwell students and staff embracing Rachel's Challenge by using kind words, doing nice things, including others, and starting our own chain reaction.

Brown Bag Lunch Presentations! Please consider sharing your time and talent with the students of Bedwell. If you'd like to do a Brown Bag Lunch presentation, please print the attached form and return it to Mrs. Pike.
Attention all parents - Fire Zones
It has been brought to the attention of the school district by the Fire Chief that there have been cars parked or stopped in the fire lanes during the school day and at after-school events at all three schools. These fire lanes are clearly marked with yellow paint not only for the safety of the students and staff, but for emergency responders as well. Parking in the fire lanes could delay a response should there be an emergency at one of the schools. Please do not park, even temporarily, in any area designated as a fire lane. We appreciate your anticipated cooperation to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

NEW! The HSA Proudly Presents 2010 Grammy Nominee Jonathan Sprout! Today, Friday, Oct 4th, our students will be treated to incredibly inspiring concert by Jonathan Sprout. He has graciously offered excellent discounts on his cd's and is giving a portion of the proceeds back to the HSA. If your child comes home grinning and singing a happy tune, we are pleased to provide you with this order form so you can treasure this music well into the future. If not, please check your "spam" folder as internet filters may have viewed it as junk mail. Those who do not find it in their "spam" folder should contact Shellie Iossa, michelle.iossa@gmail.com.
It's not too late to be a member and receive access to our totally easy & convenient Bedwell HSA Directory. Please fill out the attached form with payment and send in to school. You will receive instant access to over 285 students & their families who are already posted in the directory! The printed version of the Directory is in process and will go home through students very soon. Stay tuned for more information!
NEW! Booo! Halloween 2013 is "on" and the Bedwell HSA is excited to present our first-ever Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 26th from 3-5pm. This is a FREE event & open to the community. Please pass word along to friends, neighbors and any organizations looking for some Halloween fun!
NEW! Hat's Off to our Awesome Bedwell Volunteers: Many thanks to Esther Wendling for her help with the HSA Directory and our Spirit Wear committee--Michelle Burke, Molly Scott and Brittany Warnock-- for being at all our back to school events and managing the online and paperwork orders. We are also very grateful to our Back to School Picnic Team, Kathy Gutjahr, Heather Meyers and Jen Tondo, for a great night outdoors with perfect weather. Thank you to all of the HomeRoom parents that provided water and informed our families about all the exciting parties and plans for this coming year. Lastly, thank you to Jackie Solomon, Stefanie Lesnik and Marianne Rivello for organizing Picture Day. Our HSA is rich with volunteers and we cannot thank you enough!!!
NEW! Huge thanks to the Green Team volunteers who helped decorate the courtyard for Fall. Many Bedwell students helped plant, water and clean up to make our school look great!! Special thanks to Shop Rite in Bernardsville for the donation of the beautiful 'Mums'.
The Bedwell Walk-a-Thon is back this Wednesday, October 16th ( raindate October 17th)! All parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend the walk a thon and cheer our children on. They will be enjoying fresh air and exercise as they walk the course! All money raised will directly support HSA sponsored programs that benefit our children and school. Celebration Books- Want to honor someone on their birthday or other special event? What better way than with a Celebration Book! You may arrange for a library book with a custom bookplate. Makes a great gift for the holidays too!
