BMS HSA News
Dear BMS HSA Member,
On behalf of the Bernardsville Middle School Home and School Association (BMS HSA), we would like to thank you for your support during the 2012-2013 school year. As a direct result of your generosity, both financial and your valuable time, we were able to provide an outstanding number of programs and events for all of the students at BMS. A highlight of some of the events that HSA members made possible this year includes:
- Incoming 5th Grade Locker Day/Parent and Student Orientations - easing the transition to BMS!
- Newcomer's Breakfast - a warm welcome for students new to the district
- 5th Grade Parent/Staff Reception - a great opportunity for parents to meet the 5th Grade Team
- 5th and 6th Grade Fall and Spring Canteens - this year was a very cosmic experience!
- BMS Book Fair - raises funds for our amazing library
- 6th and 7th Grade DARE Programs and Graduations- the kids loved the ice cream surprise!
- 6th and 7th Grade Dance - Mustache Mania was a hit!
- Teacher Appreciation Luncheon - the teachers were so appreciative of the amazing food
- NJ ASK Ice Cream Truck - a great treat for the kids after a week of testing!
- 8th Grade Class Trip to NYC - the kids can't wait for this one!
- Field Day - after a year of "Hunger Games", "Survivor" returns
- Grade Pool Parties - the kids look forward to this all year, its a sign the end of school is here!
- Cultural Arts- inventive programs to energize and inspire, including Quiet Riot, The Wright Brothers and Jump With Jill (coming in June)
- Rachel's Challenge - this District wide initiative has broadened the students' understanding of tolerance and acceptance, look for the Rachel's Challenge Chain
- 8th Grade Graduation and Dance - who can believe these kids are graduating already??
This year we were especially pleased to be able to purchase 24 Chromebooks for the students to use in the classrooms. This purchase integrates with the District's overall technology plan to bring Chromebooks into the classrooms for the students to be able to use for direct Internet and PC connectivity.
We could not have provided these amazing programs and gifts to the school without your generosity and support. We wish everyone a happy and healthy summer and look forward to another great school year in 2013-2014.
Sincerely The BMS HSA Board,
Keri Kutakoff
