The Somerset Hills YMCA has several upcoming events for families. See attached flyers for each.
Kids Night Out -- Friday 4/19 from 6-10pm - a fun night for kids to play at the Y while their parents have a night off.
The Teen Scene event is happening Friday 4/19 from 7:30-9:30pm, is a great opportunity for 6th, 7th and 8th graders to get together and participate in fun activities.
Lucia Bocchino Art Contest - artists in grades K-12 can submit art for the "Exhibition of Inspirational Women: Who Inspires You?". The Lucia Bocchino Fund will generously donate awards in five categories. Art will be on display at the Y from April 29 - May 11.
Healthy Kids Day-1 -5pm-- Healthy Kids Day is a fun-filled event that encourages healthy habits among kids. See flyer for details.
Lifeguard Certification or Recertification- With summer around the corner, spring is the perfect time to become certified as a lifeguard. The Y offers certification and recertification trainings in the months of April, May and June.
The Prague Trip is a wonderful opportunity for teens, age 15+, to join a SHYMCA delegation on a trip to Prague this summer for the Y International Youth Festival. The event encourages international teens to celebrate life, culture and diversity and to discover their power to make a positive social impact locally and globally.

An Evening With The Frogs
Friday, April 26, 7:00 - 8:30 P.M.
Come for a night adventure to the world of amphibians! We'll start with a short slide presentation of the frogs of the Sanctuary, and then we'll head out with flashlights, buckets and nets to the vernal pools and frog ponds. We'll listen and look for anything that hops, crawls, or swims! Due to the sensitivity of the habitat, program is limited to 15 people.Pre-registration required by 4/24, call 908-766-5787.

Residents will be volunteering to help pick up litter in Bernardsville. Participants can register via e-mail by submitting their name and location they would like to clean. It can be any area of Bernardsville that needs attention. You can register as a group or an individual, or you can just participate that day by reporting to Base Camp to obtain trash bags. A used bike collection for Pedals for Progress will be hosted by the Bernardsville United Methodist Church, 22 Church St. Used adult and children's bicycles in good condition will be accepted to be sent to help individuals in developing countries around the world. Sewing machines in working condition will also be accepted. Pedals for Progress requires a $10 donation with each bike to help defray the cost of shipping. Reasonably priced, these courses will enhance or enrich students' current academic pursuits and help develop various skills, abilities, talents and interests. The Bernards Township Health Department conducts a monthly no cost clinic for children who are not covered by health insurance which ensures that children receive appropriate vaccinations in a timely manner.
The services provided are: Growth and development assessments, Immunizations for newborns through children 18 years of age, Nutrition assessment and counseling, and Information and education on childhood health, safety, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) in the area, Pediatric Dental Program, NJ Snap (Food Stamps), etc. This influenza vaccine is available to those who attend at our Child Health Conference.
