BMS Girls on the Move

This spring BMS is offering Girls on the Move to 5th & 6th grade girls. Girls on the Move is a 10 week running and healthy lifestyle program. Girls will have fun training for a 5K race (Sunday, June 9th in Somerville) while making friends and learning about themselves. Our first meeting is the Tuesday after spring break, but the girls will need to get their permission slips and money in before. Any questions? From the Guidance Department BMS Career Fair for 8th Graders - April 12th

Attention 8th Graders!

 

Somerset Hills YMCA is offering a great scholarship opportunity for middle school students to attend the Counselor in Training program. The attached flyer briefly describes four scholarships the YMCA administers, one of which pertains to 8th graders. It's a wonderful opportunity for so many students who are interested in becoming role models and leaders. Click here to get more information about this opportunity.

Help BMS keep JERSEY STRONG! Buy a JERSEY STRONG wristband!

Join in with the BMS Peer Leaders in raising money to support Hurricane Sandy Relief by purchasing a JERSEY STRONG wristband. The wristbands are green glow-in-the-dark to represent the strength of the Garden State! Wristbands can be purchased during lunch time from Peer Leaders starting this FRIDAY, as well as directly from Ms. MacGorman in the library. Wristbands cost $2 with all of the proceeds going directly to Hurricane Sandy Relief efforts! Money raised will be split between The Red Cross of Central Jersey's Sandy Relief Fund & St. Hubert's Sandy Fund for assisting displaced animals! Click here to see the flyer about this fundraiser. One School, Two Books Author Visiting BMS!

 

James Preller, the author of Bystander, one of our One School, Two Book titles from this past summer will be visiting BMS on Tuesday, April 9th! 

He will be giving presentations to all the grades, doing book signings, and hosting a writing workshop for winners of our writing contest! Please encourage your students to read Bystander or one of Mr. Preller's other books before the visit! See below for information on ordering books to be signed the day he visits! Please place your order ASAP!

BMS HSA News 

Attention 8th Grade Parents it's time for the 8th Grade DVD for the Class of 2013!

   

With 8th Grade Graduation just a little over 4 months, the gathering of pictures for the creation of our 8th Grade video has begun!

 

This year, Lyn Dotterweich is responsible for the creation of this DVD and she needs your help.  Lyn needs pictures from you to fill the DVD. Our DVD will include pictures from both Bedwell and BMS time frame. This will make the DVD so much more fun! So please dust off those photo albums and forward pictures to be considered for the DVD to lyn.dotterweich@yahoo.com. or call her at 908-234-2398 (cell 908-285-2654). Please forward only those pictures from a school sponsored events.
