NEW -BMS PRESENTS WILLY WONKA KIDS

More than sixty Bernardsville Middle School fifth and sixth graders are making final preparations for their production of Willy Wonka Kids, Roald Dahl's timeless story of the world-famous candy man. This scrumdidilyumptious musical is guaranteed to delight everyone's sweet tooth. Performances will be held at Bernardsville Middle School on Thursday, February 28 and Friday, March 1 at 7PM. Tickets are $5.00 for both children and adults and will be sold at the door

ROTARY OFFERS THREE-WEEK YOUTH EXCHANGE TRIP TO JAPAN

Rotary clubs in our area are joining together in a search for young adults to represent the region in a cultural exchange with Japan.  The Ross Redmond Short Term Youth Exchange Program, now in its thirty-fourth year, offers students ages 16 to 20 the opportunity to experience life in another country. NEW - BATTLE OF THE BANDS AT THE CENTER FOR CONTEMPORARY ART

On Saturday March 2 come support your local Bernards High School band, Into the Trees, at the first ever Battle of the Bands at the Center for Contemporary Art in Bedminster NJ.  Hunter Kane, Jett Singh, Pierce Henderson and Carter Prince, members of Into the Tress, will battle two other area bands. Open to all ages, the battle starts at 7:00pm with a $5 admission fee.  Refreshments will be served. The CCA is located at  2020 Burnt Mills Rd. Bedminster

BASEBALL BOWL-a-THON

Attention students and parents: Bernards Baseball team will be hosting a Bowl-a-Thon fundraiser, on Sunday, March 3, from 3-5pm at Strike n' Spare Lanes, in Green Brook NJ. Everyone is welcome to come and bowl. Pre-registration is $25 for 2 hours of bowling, bowling shoes, soda and pizza. Anyone signing up the night of will be charged $30. There will also be prizes throughout the event for the best bowler, best team score, most strikes etc...Click here for registration form.

UNITE FOR GIRLS TOUR

In partnership with the United Nations Foundation's "Girl Up"

initiative and in celebration of International Women's Day, Henkel Corporation is sponsoring the Unite for Girls Tour on March 8 at Raritan Valley Community College from 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm

 

The Unite for Girls Tour features memorable interactive activities, high-energy performances and a multimedia screening of the film Girl Rising, which highlights the power of education to change the future for unforgettable girls born into unforgiving circumstances.

NEW -BHS SPRING MUSICAL -  A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM

 "Tumblers, grumblers, fumblers, and bumblers" join in to complicate the plot through mistaken identity, deception and general mayhem with, of course, a happy ending. Over 40 of BHS's finest performers invite audiences of all ages to partake in a night/afternoon of musical theatre comedy and farce. Performances are March 8th & 9th at 7:00PM, and March 10th at 2:00PM.

General Seating prices are $15.00 for Adults; $10.00 for Children/Seniors. Tickets may be purchased at Bernardsville Hardware or the BHS Main Office.

SPANISH GUITAR DUO EMERICUS BRINGS THE OLD WORLD TO THE SOMERSET HILLS

Music in the Somerset Hills will present Emericus in concert at the Church of St. John on the Mountain.  Emericus is the husband and wife duo composed of Elise Figa, a mezzo-soprano, and Carlos Cuestas, a classical guitarist and specialist in early plucked-string instruments.  Their program, Música de España, features art song from 17th and 19th century Spain on themes of love, longing and travel, performed on historical guitars.  Join them for an imaginary journey through the streets of Old Europe, accompanied by lavishly romantic music that embodies the legendary spirit of passion so central to this culture.  The performance will take place in the uniquely beautiful acoustic of St. John's new Parish Hall.   4:00pm  St. John on the Mountain-379 Mount Harmony Road Bernardsville

Spring Baseball is coming! Registration is now open for Somerset Hills Little League. SHLL programs are open to all residents of Bernardsville, Peapack, and Gladstone. CHILD HEALTH CONFERENCE

The Bernards Township Health Department conducts a monthly no cost clinic for children who are not covered by health insurance which ensures that children receive appropriate vaccinations in a timely manner.  

The services provided are: Growth and development assessments, Immunizations for newborns through children 18 years of age, Nutrition assessment and counseling, and Information and education on childhood health, safety, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) in the area, Pediatric Dental Program, NJ Snap (Food Stamps), etc. This influenza vaccine is available to those who attend at our Child Health Conference.

MULTI-COUNTRY EUROPEAN TRIP

A 14 day trip with EF Tours, to Spain, France and Italy, including a two day extension to Pompei, Sorrento and Capri is planned for this coming summer.  This trip isn ot associated with the Somerset Hills School District and is open to anyone interested.  Presently the departure date is June 25.  For further information please contact Ms. Violillo at mviolillo@shsd.org

CELTIC FORTNIGHT

St John on the Mountain announces the "Celtic Fortnight," a two week series of events focusing on the music, art, sports, food and spirituality of the Celtic nations. The fortnight kicks off with a reception and unveiling of watercolors from the artist Daniel Paul Turner Thomas, At the same time the Guards Pipes and Drums will lead a Celtic Concert at the church to start the 2 weeks of festivities. The concert will feature music and readings from all three nations followed by a hearty Shepherd's Pie Dinner.
