FREE PRINCETON REVIEW ASSESSMENT FOR SAT AND ACT
*Important*
Any student who registered with the Princeton Review to take the PRA on Saturday, January 26th at 8:30 AM should report to the PAC instead of the cafeteria. Also, please make sure to check the school web-site between Friday evening and Saturday morning for any updated information should it be cancelled or pushed back due to inclement weather. If there is a delayed start on Saturday morning, it woud most likely be pushed back to 11:00 AM. Any time change or cancellation will be posted on the BHS homepage as soon as it is determined.
New GRADE REPORTING Teachers are currently working to finalize student grades for Marking Period 2, Semester 1, and Midterm Exams. Grade information will be unavailable in PowerSchool until grades are finalized. Grade information will be available in PowerSchool after 8:30 AM on Tuesday, February 5th.
**NEW WORKSHOPS AVAILABLE FROM THE COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER**
A series of Workshops will be available by grade level to assist parents with planning for College. When possible, please adhere to dates assigned by grade, as the information will be tailored to that specific grade. The schedule of workshops is as follows: For Parents of grade 9 students: All workshops will be held at 6:30pm in the Community Room March 19th: Using Naviance: A guide to researching careers, majors and colleges. April 16th: Planning for enrichment throughout the school year and over the summer. For Parents of grade 10 students: All workshops will be held at 6:30pm in the Community Room January 29th: What should I do now to begin planning for College? February 26th: Using Naviance: A guide to researching careers, majors and colleges. March 5th: College Visits and Interviews. April 16th: Planning for enrichment throughout the school year and over the summer. For Parents of grade 11 students: All workshops will be held at 6:30pm in the Community Room. February 12th: Using Naviance and other resources to conduct a thorough search for colleges. March 5th: College Visits and Interviews. April 30th: Using Naviance to conduct a thorough search for colleges (make-up session). May 29th: Understanding the College Application Components including a look at the Common Application. Open to all grade levels: All workshops will be held at 6:30pm in the Community Room. May 9th: How will I pay for college? June 6th: Planning for College Testing June 13th: College Planning Q and A. This will be an open agenda. Come with any questions you may have before we break for the summer. Thursday, February 21st at 7:00pm: Ivy Educational Services will be here to discuss testing particular to the SAT Subject Tests, including a discussion on how to avoid over-testing.
