School News

The Board of Education invites staff members to provide input for the background, training and experience necessary for the new superintendent of schools. Please click here to complete an online survey. Surveys must be completed by December 7.

Due to Hurricane Sandy, we missed eight days of school that must be made up. Three snow days are always built into our district calendar so these are the first to be used; therefore, school will be in session on May 23, 24 and 28. Five additional days will be made up on November 9, January 21, February 15 and 18 and April 5.

We are very hopeful that we have an uneventful winter. If, however, any additional days are lost, we will take those days from spring break, April 4, 3, 2 and 1, in that order. If even more days are

needed, the next step would be either to open on other closed days or add days to the end of the school year.

The district has been informed by the Commissioner of Education that the 180 school day requirement will not be waived.  Saturdays will not be considered as make up days by the Department of Education until all possible make up days have been used.   Click here to see the revised District Calendar.

Important Notice from the Health Office: Due to the recent storm and loss of electricity, there is a possibility that students with Epipens may need to have them replaced. The Bernardsville Middle School building temperature may have dropped below the manufacturers recommended storage temperature, potentially altering the effectiveness of this medication.
