Hello at home,

Umbrellas in hand, the mood was sunny despite the gray skies on Wednesday when Bedwell students, parents and staff walked to school from the Bernardsville Library. Though we might have been wet, Bedwell spirits refused to dampen!

NEW! 7^th annual Weekend Journey through the Past, a cultural heritage tourism weekend event which features free admission to 27 significant historic sites countywide! Sat., Oct 13 from 10:00AM-5:00PM, and Sun., Oct 14 from Noon -4:00PM. The Detective Investigation activity, "What in the World is That?" is designed to help families share their reminiscences of how things were in the past during an enjoyable day out together. Bedwell Book Fair - Help us turn the Bedwell Library into a full-fledge bookstore! The Bedwell Book Fair runs Oct. 30 through Nov 7. This popular weeklong event needs many volunteers to ensure its success. Please consider giving a couple of hours of your time. Sign up here.
The First Box Top Contest is underway! Please start sending in those clipped Box Tops to school. Have them marked with the teacher's name and grade in order for his/her class to get credit. Bedwell is striving to collect 30% more Box Tops than last year! Learn about other ways to earn Box Tops at http://www.boxtops4education.com/
Lunchroom Volunteers: Volunteers are needed daily to assist the Kindergartners and 1st Graders in the lunchroom and to accompany the students to recess. Join Principal Amy Phelan and Trustees from the Somerset Hills Education Foundation(SHEF) for one of the upcoming Bedwell Newcomers coffees. These casual events will provide a chance for parents to learn about SHEF and how they support the students of the Bedwell School. You don't have to be a Newcomer to attend - all parents are welcome! SHEF is sponsoring a FREE hands-on computer seminar in the BHS Library Computer lab on Thursday, October 25 at 10:00 am. Come learn about Google Docs, managing your volunteer lists online, sharing data with other volunteers and managing your group calendar.
