Another semester comes to an end with 1,845 summer and fall graduates -- 302 are CoLA majors -- earning that long-awaited diploma at Saturday's commencement ceremony.  I am so impressed with our students and their dedication and hard work. I hope you will join me in celebrating their accomplishments and wishing them well as they become productive alumni and members of our community.

'Tis the season and Christopher Chaffee's, Music, Flute Studio students and some alums visited the Indu and Raj Soin Medical Center's recover floor and played holiday music for the patients. Great Job Raiders!

Before we break for the holidays, be sure to mark your calendars for a couple of exciting events coming up very soon in the New Year:

The Second Annual CoLA Research Conference will be held on Monday, February 22, 1:15 - 5:00 p.m. in the Millett Hall Atrium with a reception following.  I can't wait to learn more about the research developed by the following CoLA faculty during their Professional Development Leave in 2014-15:

Kelli Zaytoun, English

The conference's illustrious keynote speaker will be Liam Anderson, Political Science, CoLA Outstanding Research awardee.  Both the conference and the reception are free and open to the public and we hope you will join us!

Stay tuned for more information about these great events.

I wish you all Happy Holidays and a very relaxing break!
