Community Outreach: A Win-Win for Business and Community

Are you or your business looking for a way to improve team morale, benefit the community, and drive your business? Community outreach can be a great way to meet all of these needs at minimal cost. The most obvious benefit to community outreach programs is its impact on the community itself. Improving the communities we live in is our social obligation and companies that take the lead on these opportunities will not regret it.

Providing volunteer opportunities can be a simple way to retain top talent, and keep your team engaged. Employees are changing their mindset about work. They no longer feel satisfied working only to improve the company, but rather want to feel like they are making a difference in their position, and that their job has meaning. At a team level, offering community outreach opportunities provides a team building opportunity for employees to deepen connections with each other, and improves office engagement and morale. Taking those few hours to be outside of the office with your co workers can be so rejuvenating for employees too! Volunteer opportunities often remind people of how great their team is, and makes them proud of the company they work for.

Volunteer opportunities are also a great way to drive more business! Getting out of the office for a day, or even a few hours, to volunteer at a food drive, or run a 5k to support a charity helps break you out of the daily grind. It can also be a great way to spark new ideas that could be applied at work. Use the opportunity to network with people, introduce your business, and ask others you meet to share what they do. You never know what might lead to a future business contact!

The Mary Kraft Staffing Team had a blast volunteering at the Maryland Food Bank!

Mary Kraft Staffing and HR Solutions would love to learn more about your business' community outreach programs! Email [email protected] to share, or for more info on how we can be a great partner for you in your community outreach campaign!

Mary Kraft Staffing Announces New Marketing Manager!

Mary Kraft Staffing and HR Solutions is pleased to announce Kate Meaney as the new Marketing Manager. She will be responsible for driving our social media campaigns, developing our community outreach programs, and delivering excellence in our employee engagement initiatives.

For the past two and a half years, Kate was living and working in Costa Rica. She moved there with a backpack and no plan, other than the plan to have an adventure. Within three months she was running a beach hostel and pizza restaurant. As she grew to love the small beach town she was living in, she became more active in the community. Partnering with a local volunteer organization, she launched a fundraiser to build a library and playground for the community. Within three days, the goal amount was reached, and by the 30th day of the fundraiser more than double the amount was raised.

Before her adventures in Costa Rica, Kate was an HR Manager at a major retail company. She led the team in HR compliance assurance, hiring, and training and development.

Now she looks forward to her future with Mary Kraft Staffing, continuing community outreach, and leaving her mark in the HR solutions industry! Lisa Benson, Staffing Director explains "We are thrilled to add Kate to the Mary Kraft family! She brings with her, literally, a world of experience in sharing ideas and building relationships. We are confident she is the marketing manager we need in place to add even more value to our client and candidate relationships." Feel free to reach out to Kate if you have any questions, or would like to partner on any upcoming community events. She can be reached through the office (410-296-0655), cell (410-404-1302), or email (

Save the Date: June 22, 2014: Join our 5K Team!

Mary Kraft Staffing is pleased to announce our participation in the Baltimore Women's Classic 5K on June 22, 2014. The year will be the 39th annual run, and it is the country's second oldest "women only" race. According to the official race website, "the race is intended to celebrate life, fitness and the power that lies inside each woman to take control of her health."

In Olympic history, there were no women's distance races until the 1980s, because distance racing was considered too strenuous for the female body. In the 1972 Moscow games, the longest race for women was the 1,500 meters (less than one mile). As a woman owned business, Mary Kraft Staffing is proud of the strides women are taking to protect their health and break barriers on every level- from the athletic arena, to the business world.

We invite you to join our team by registering for the race, and choosing "Mary Kraft Staffing and HR Solutions." Feel free to contact [email protected] for more information on joining our team. You can register for the race here: Click Here to Register!
