Congratulations to Mary Kraft friend and alum, Eric Holmes!

Each year during their Employee Appreciation Week, Johns Hopkins gives out the Edward A. Halle prize for Excellence in Patient Service. This award is named for Edward Halle, senior vice president of administration at Johns Hopkins, who was known for his wonderful way with patients. When Halle retired in 1993, his colleagues endowed this award in his name to continue honoring his legacy in outstanding patient service. This award is designated for one employee who exemplifies exceptional compassion and patient service. The recipient of this award is chosen by a team of people based on several factors, including complimentary letters written by grateful patients.

This year the recipient was our very own friend and part time Mary Kraft employee, Eric Holmes! Eric has worked full time at Hopkins for 18 years. During that time he has also worked on many projects and part time positions for Mary Kraft.

Eric was nominated and agreed upon unanimously by the panel of judges as this year's Edward A. Halle prize winner. His positive attitude and desire to go above and beyond the normal call of duty for his patients is what really set him apart from the other nominees. After speaking with Eric only once, it is impossible not to leave with a smile on your face and a slightly better outlook on life. He is truly someone who lives by the idea that if you aren't helping someone, you're not doing enough.

Eric comes from a very large family - he has seven siblings! - and he says they all share the same positivity and love of serving their communities, which they got from their mom! Outside of his job as a Patient Service Coordinator at Johns Hopkins Eric is also a leader in his church, providing training and mentoring to new members and participating as a key player in outreach to people all over the world.

Please join us in congratulating Eric on receiving this amazing recognition!

Training and Predicting Success in Employees

How many times have you heard a manager say, "I wish I could clone ______ (top performer)!"? Who are the top performers in your organization and what characteristics make them perform as they do? You don't have to guess anymore - let science give you a hand with replicating success!

In order to create the most successful career path for your employees, it is important to understand how their individual personalities affect their job performance.

For over a decade, companies have incorporated the Rembrandt Advantage assessment into their hiring process. By assessing their current employees, both high performing and low performing employees, an employer is able to see what specific characteristics fit best within their organization and within specific positions. Once a person takes the assessment, his or her results can be overlaid for a specific job description. This gives more insight into how well that person will perform in that job, as compared to other people with similar personality profiles in similar positions.

The executive team at Mary Kraft has been using this assessment for our internal employees with great success; so much so that we have started recommending the Rembrandt Advantage assessment to our clients. Our first client to start using this tool began only a few weeks ago and has already seen results.

One of the main problems this client was facing was the high turnover rate of employees in a certain position. To help this company learn how to better retain employees in this position, we gave the Rembrandt Assessment to the top performers in the position in order to find out exactly what type of person really succeeds in that job. After learning more about this person's personality profile, the client is better able to find the right fit for these types of job openings.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a little scientific reassurance behind your new hires? The Rembrandt Advantage assessment allows you a little more peace of mind in knowing that you have chosen the best fit not only for your company, but also for your new employee!
