ALTERNATE CARE SITES
ILLINOIS
The Chicago Department of Public Health purchased equipment and outfitted buses to provide onboard care to people with oxygen needs during an evacuation.
MINNESOTA
A University of Minnesota center created a free online training for volunteers assisting with an alternate care site. View details.

The Minnesota Department of Health developed a framework to extend hospital resources via the seven core clinical strategies during an emergency.
IOWA  The Iowa Department of Public Health created guidelines and tools to manage patient overload in hospitals, clinics, and alternate care sites. View details.

TRIAGE AND SCREENING STRATEGIES
NEW YORK
The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene built a tool to manage hospital beds and discharge of patients during surge events.
During H1N1, the University of Wisconsin-Madison created telephone triage and treatment protocols and communications materials to manage care for large numbers of ill students. View details.
