Spotlight On
A Team Member
Caroline Kluiters
Being in charge of Quality Control and as our delivery specialist for iTunes, anything Caroline doesn't know about iTunes delivery systems probably isn't worth knowing..
Caroline joined our team in 2007 and started by tracking down illicit use of our clients' material online and organising takedowns when the unlicensed use of our clients' music occurred.
Caroline now works tirelessly to ensure that all deliveries are dealt with smoothly, and has become a specialist in dealing with all technical issues that can arise during the delivery process.
Her impeccable attention to detail is indispensable when making deliveries as the smallest discrepancy or technicality can sometimes cause a store to return a delivery.
Having spent several years working and living in the USA, Caroline is very familiar with the importance of Quality Control and the difference it makes.
Have you got any Quality Control or iTunes delivery questions? Feel free to contact Caroline and her team at content@the-source.eu

Delivery Restrictions for Christmas and Thanksgiving
Can you hear the "Sleigh Bells Ringing and Jing Ting Tingaling too..."??
Christmas is just around the corner and as with every festive season (including Thanksgiving for the US), portals and stores reduce the amount of deliveries they process, and limit the times in which they accept deliveries (iTunes closes for a whole week for each of Thanksgiving and Christmas).
The Source will also be slowing down around these times, so please ensure you get your deliveries to us in good time. Here are the festive release deadlines:
Thanksgiving Delivery Deadlines
For Store Date 19/11/12 - 27/11/12, The Source must receive by 02/11/12
For Store Date 03/12/12 - 04/12/12, The Source must receive by 09/11/12
Christmas Delivery Deadlines
For Store Date 17/12/12 - 04/01/13, The Source must receive by 30/11/12
For Store Date 07/01/13 - 08/01/13, The Source must receive by 07/12/12
If you have any questions or queries, please contact us.

PopMid Algarve 2012 - A Review
From 5 to 7 October, The Source attended PopMid in Portugal. A gathering set up by a small group of music industry professionals, PopMid attempts to offer a cost effective alternative to expensive trade shows.
We can certainly confirm that it was cost effective: there are no entrance fees! Taking place in a lovely and modern family hotel in Quarteira at a 20 minute drive from Faro International Airport, we only had to pay the special (i.e. low) room price to gain full access to the exhibition floor: the terraces surrounding the swimming pool and the spacious hotel lobby.

Above: our "booth". See the reflection in the glass for a wider view of the "exhibition floor". Three days of combining business with leisure in these surroundings proved to be just as effective as attending any established industry trade show. We had some very interesting meetings which we are currently following up on. We travelled home with plenty of new ideas and with our batteries recharged (not always the case with "traditional" trade shows!)
So people, help spread the word! Next year, from 4 to 6 October, will see a second edition. Why don't you join us?
Watch this space or contact us for more information on PopMid.

High Resolution Audio - Have You Got Any? Do You Want Some?
Higher quality audio files are gathering momentum as a superior alternative to mp3, and are being offered in several online stores such as iTunes and ClassicsOnline. Depending on where you look, the files are currently called "Mastered for iTunes" (no prizes for where you can find these...) or "High Resolution Audio".
High resolution files are usually taken straight from studio masters, and of higher quality than CDs. File formats include 24bit/96khz sample rate, or 24bit/192 sample rate. However, 24 bit/44.1khz sample rate files can also be considered as high resolution.
The Source supports delivery of High Resolution Audio to any stores you may wish to deliver to. We can also take care of transferring your studio master tapes and creating your High Resolution Audio files.
Please contact us for more details.
