The Lafayette City Police Department donates bikes to members at the Boys & Girls Clubs
Combined the Lafayette City Police Department gave away 64 bikes to organizations within the community. The 3 organizations were LA Cruisers, Charles Burke Elementary Positive Behavioral Support and the Boys & Girls Clubs. The Boys & Girls Clubs received 11 of the bikes and they will be distributed to the children who need them the most. The bikes given are bikes that have been recovered off the streets. Ms. Mary Chretien with the Lafayette City Police Department says, " We enjoy donating to non-profits. It helps the children that are less fortunate to have gifts for Christmas because some of them don't even get Christmas gifts at home. We give bikes to the organizations twice a year and we are happy to be able to do that for the kids.
