Cincinnati is nuts with baseball! They ought to call this town Cincinnutty - Sportswriter Arthur "Bugs" Baer
Celebrating Cincinnati's Rich Brewery Heritage
(With a little baseball thrown in)

Sportswriter O.P. Caylor of The Cincinnati Enquirer once reported in 1880 that
"We drink beer in Cincinnati as freely as you used to drink milk." Fast forward 136 years and Cincinnati maintains its reputation for beer-making today with award-winning breweries and busy calendars of locally-flavored (literally!), can't-miss-events.

No more proof is needed than our favorite celebration of the coming of spring, its brewing heritage, and bock beer than Bockfest. This event, held at the beginning of March for the last 24 years, originally began by Hudepohl-Schoenling Brewing Company to commemorate the introduction of Christian Moerlein's Bock. Today, the event features the traditional kick-off parade, brewery tours, Bocklympics, a 5K run, live music and German style cuisine. EE was on board for our ninth year supporting Bockfest with all of its sound, staging, lighting and labor needs as well as our fourth year supplying the Saturday morning 5K run with all sound, staging, power and labor at the start and finish line.

On a national scale, Rhinegeist Brewery grabbed the national spotlight when they nabbed the number two spot for the best, new brewery in the U.S. by a USA Today poll. EE has been fortunate to have worked with Rhinegeist since the summer of 2013. Throughout the month of March, EE was on hand providing production needs to help Rhinegeist:
  • Celebrate the tapping of their Sabor Tooth brew
  • Stage their first ever beer and mustache competition
  • Host their Second Annual Home Run Derby With a Cause - a wiffle ball home run derby contest that raises money for the Bow Tie Cause and Butler County Challenger Baseball.

Working "Miles Ahead" of A Premiere Date

As many already know, the local Cincinnati premier of Don Cheadle's biographical film,
Miles Ahead, took place this past weekend. It was almost two years ago that Event Enterprises answered the call of the film's producers to help stage an authentic set. We provided backline that was used as props and sets for several of the performance scenes. With the film set to be fully released in Cincinnati on April 15, you can catch the trailer right here -  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssfTNCTVT5U

Upcoming Events

Here are just a few upcoming events that we are proud to be a part of happening across the area.

Monday, April 4 and Wednesday, April 6
We're kicking off baseball season the only way we know how - right in the middle of the action. We'll be downtown for Opening Day on April 4th for the Reds Community Fund Opening Day Charity Block party outside the stadium. On April 6, we'll head back to Great American Ball Park to lend a hand for the Opening Night Fan Zone entertainment. Throughout the festivities, we'll be providing lighting, power, and labor to help celebrate Cincinnati's "Unofficial" holiday and kick off the 2016 baseball season.

Friday, April 8 - Saturday, April 9
Kenny G, the biggest-selling instrumentalist in the world, heads to Dayton for performances in conjunction with our friends at the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra. We're pleased to be handling a slew of backline for the guest artist's and band's two nights of shows at the Schuster Center.

Saturday, April 30
The annual health expo heads back to Washington Park, helping to raise awareness about health care accessibility among minorities and aiming to bring health care to the community. There will be free health screenings, physical activities and forums with health experts. The day closes with entertainment by Ohio Players, and we'll be there providing the headliner's backline.
