Other Tampa Bay Chapter News: Despite Tropical Storm Andrea, the "Best Practices in the 13th Judicial Circuit" Seminar CLE on June 6, 2013 was well attended. The storm left town just in time. The Tampa Bay Chapter alumni are grateful to the Judges for taking time to participate in this seminar.

February 20, 2014 to February 24, 2014: Join us for a fabulous 4 day cruise on Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas! We will depart Fort Lauderdale Thursday (Feb. 20, 2014) afternoon and sail to Cozumel, Mexico and back. We will return to Fort Lauderdale early on Monday, February 24, 2014. We are planning fun events during the cruise and seminars at sea, too! Sail away with fellow NSU Alumni, including our friends at the School of Optometry.

US Supreme Court Attorney Admissions in 2014
Join the NSU Law Alumni Association on our next trip to the
Supreme Court of the United States April 28, 29 & 30, 2014. Being sworn in to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States is an experience you won't forget. You will appear before the Justices and take your oath, as administered by Chief Justice Roberts. You will have a "front row seat" to watch oral arguments. Attorneys who have been practicing for more than 5 years, and who meet the Court's other eligibility requirements, can apply for admission.
Space is very limited and there is a waiting list; so if you are interested in learning more, and want to get on the waiting list, please email Elena Minicucci at minicuccie@nsu.law.nova.edu and provide your name, phone number, and mailing address. ***Anyone who has sent me their contact information already will be getting more information by the end of August, including hotel room rates for our group.  Class Actions News & Notes About Alumni NSU Law Alumna Nominated by President Obama to US District Court is Unanimously Confirmed by US Senate. The Hon. Sheri Polster Chappell (JD 1987) was unanimously confirmed by the US Senate as a US District Judge for Florida's Middle District. The district covers Fort Myers to Jacksonville and includes Tampa and Orlando. It is one of the busiest federal court districts in the USA. NSU Law Student Achievements 
Removing Legal Barriers to Employment Workshop
The Shepard Broad Law Center's Veterans Law Clinic hosted its first event, Removing Legal Barriers to Employment Workshop, on Saturday June 15. The veterans that received legal assistance at the workshop will be able to confidently move forward towards stable employment.
Jayme Cassidy, Staff Attorney for the Veterans Law Clinic said she was very pleased with the extraordinary response from the Pro Bono Honor Law Students. Sharon Booth, Director of Public Interest Programs & Disability Services, assisted with coordination of the Pro Bono Honor Law Students. The following students dedicated their time to help our local heroes: Jessika Jackson, Bea Serrano, Leer Gloger,Carlos Prieto, Renata Alves, Kiran Garcia,Michelle Avis,Sara Mammarella,Patrick Zalman,Lauren Taylor Clifton, Zarinah St. Lawrence.
