Deep Listening - Healing Communities
At Youth on Board, we stand with all undocumented immigrant youth and their families in the wake of the DACA repeal announcement by the Trump administration. We promise to continue to protect them by working with Boston Public Schools and by continuing to promote our BPS Student Rights App and are ready to expand our Open Doors project by partnering with immigrant youth organizers in order to strengthen our social movements and build a stronger and more unified resistance to hate and division.

Young people are the leaders of today and tomorrow, and thrive when they are given warm and unconditional support from the adult allies around them. In this time of uncertainty and pain, this is the time to create space for young people to grieve, heal and process. Listen to the young people around you. Pay attention to how they are feeling, what they are thinking, and what ideas they have to make the world a better place.
BPS superintendent Tommy Chang published a bold statement in support of undocumented youth in the Boston Public Schools and promises to "aggressively support dreamers." If you haven't already, Please download our Boston student rights app which outlines the rights and responsibilities of students including undocumented students, at www.bostonstudentrights.org
We look forward to partnering with the immigrant youth leading then resistance in order to share our lessons learned and support their work.
