Times are changing!! We were so pleased to read the article on the front page of the Metro Section of Sunday's Boston Globe about the lack of student representation on the Superintendent Search Committee.
All of our work is making a difference and positively affecting how people think and act towards young people in the City and beyond.
When asked if he understood why students were left off the committee, BSAC's Marcus Wade is quoted as saying "Honestly, it didn't make any sense to us....The Superintendent makes decisions about students and no one knows students needs better than students."
For months BSAC has been working tirelessly to get the word out that students should be on the Superintendent Search Committee as well as have other ways of being part of this critical search process that will have a major impact on BPS. Mayor Marty Walsh will be appointing a new Superintendent in the next few months and students are demanding a real place at the table.
