Last week BSAC, and other YOUNG Coalition members, went to four T stations across Boston for our 3rd annual Listening Project.
We talked to young people about their experiences with discipline practices in the Boston Public Schools and beyond. We focused on building support for a Moratorium on Suspensions and educating students on the new Code of Conduct policy that was recently passed.
The event was part of Dignity in Schools Campaign' (DSC) national Week of Action. DSC helps to raise awareness and change policies locally and nationally to promote alternative and restorative discipline practices.
We are so pleased that Boston Mobilization joined BSAC and BYOP as the YOUNG Coalition's newest member, and held the first listening project in Cambridge!
Each year over 3.3 million students across the country are suspended out of school. Learn more and sign on to the Solutions Not Suspensions initiative! Thank you to Dignity in Schools and everyone who spoke with us!!
