The Federal Education Department's Youth Engagement team brought together over 100 ED staff, and even more watching online, to hear students from three states tell their stories. A major theme from the students was the disconnect between young people and political system that shapes their lives and that young people need to be active, engaged citizens who are leading the change in public education.
BSAC President Heaven Reda spoke about how students in the Boston Public Schools are transforming their schools and engaging young people through our We Are the Ones In the Classroom - Ask Us!! campaign.
