Mary and her Christmas Puppies
Your help has made it possible for us to save hundreds of homeless, sick, injured and abused animals in need.

Please help again.  Help us start the new year strong for the animals with your special years-end donation.

But I'm also writing because I want to end the year with a happy rescue story you'll love - The story of Mary and her Christmas Puppies.

Mary's story:  A homeless, pregnant dog took up in someone's nice dog house, filled with pine straw, and had her 8 babies in it on Christmas night. The dog, Boxco, was very hospitable and understanding with his guests, but Boxco's dad told us they MUST go, that same day . . . . it was cold and rainy, and Boxco needed his house.

We would have to work fast to find and prepare a place then go get the mama and babies before dark. He didn't know where the mother was, so we were worried about not being able to find her. Not even knowing if the mother was friendly or feral, and not having a place to put them, Esther and I went to get them anyway. Our plan? Play it by ear, but get them out!
PRECIOUS LITTLE BABIES!!!! Thank God - the mama was there and so sweet. We named her Mary because she had her 8 babies on Christmas in a bed of straw that belonged to someone else. I started calling fosters, but none had an appropriate space. Then I remembered Doris has a barn not used for over a year. Maybe we could rig a stall, if only Doris would say yes.

Tha
Mary's Christmas Puppynk God again! She did. We set up a cozy straw bed and two heat lamps. She is very content and the babies are thriving.  That's Esther moving the babies out of Boxco's house.  This baby is just one day old.  Isn't he precious?

                 Happy New Year!

Thank you for being there with your loving support for the animals!
