Senior Holistic Living
Greetings!

As November marks Caregiver Month and Hospice Month, we are fortunate to be honoring both at our New Age of Caregiving Symposium 2012 at The Hilton St. Pete at Carillon Park. This all day event is about healing and inspiration with the added benefit of donating a portion of all proceeds to Suncoast Hospice.

How does someone heal and be inspired? It's not easy. It's often complicated. Actually, it takes setting an intention and following through with an action that allows the healing to occur and inspiration to percolate.

Have you ever had to heal from a broken heart? A surgery? An upsetting situation? A strained relationship from long ago or just last week? The concept of healing sounds so pure and hopeful, but what it really is in my opinion is an opportunity to grow as a person, be humble and be aware of my own feelings. Sometimes it includes the words "letting go." Over the years, I have had to do an abundant amount of healing. Coming from a background where I had to care for my mother who had an illness, I had the opportunity many years after her death to be aware of my feelings about my relationship with her. She died abruptly when I was 17 years old.

My willingness after going to therapy for many years and practicing what I had learned was humbling. All this personal work allowed me to let go of the unresolved issues that kept me from moving forward with my personal development. I slowly began to shift from stuck to unlimited potential.

If you were to fast forward 30 years, I am now on the radio each week sharing information, resources and guidance with thousands of caregivers all over the Tampa Bay area and beyond. And now I have added the symposium for a 2nd year with a fantastic agenda, beautiful venue, collaborative sponsors and caregivers of all ages.

This symposium is a tribute to the progress I have made to acknowledge my personal power, my abilities and my willingness to funnel so much energy to helping caregivers create balance in their lives. I feel like it's my purpose.

It's an honor to provide this venue for caregivers to heal what is important to them in their own time frame. If not today, maybe another day. I intentionally brought a fabulous variety of healing modalities to the symposium that can benefit caregivers like: Sound Healing, Reiki/energy healing, Healing Touch, Massage & Aromatherapy.

Just a few days ago the symposium happened and as a result of all the hard work that occurred over the last year, it is with pleasure and joy I tell you it was a WOW!

The family caregivers, the military caregivers, the professional caregivers, the brain-injury caregivers enjoyed the breakout sessions, the healing therapies, the decor, the camaraderie, the speakers and most of all they loved Lee Woodruff, our inter-generational caregiver who spoke eloquently, authentically, humorously.

If you want to hear more about the event, please click on Monday, Nov. 19th pod cast on www.thenewageofcaregivingsymposium.com under Show Archives.

I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving.

Warmly,

Kim Linder
