The Power of Networking
By Lauren Celano, CEO, Propel Careers

Lauren wrote this article for BioCareers as part of her monthly contributions.

Relationships are built over time. Networking does not always lead to immediate results, but each time you make a connection and foster a relationship, you set potential in motion. We all know people we describe as power networkers, who are able to effortlessly work a crowd and who seem immensely comfortable even in situations where they know no one. One may ask, how did this happen? Is this a natural skill or one learned? Many of us try to emulate these individuals to become as fluid and skilled as they are.

Ricerca's Navigating Best Practices in Drug Development on the Road to IND Submission Event on July 16, 2013.

Michael Placke, President & CEO of Ricerca Biosciences, will lead a discussion of approaches for drug development and IND submissions for small molecule and biologic compounds. This event is being held at Nutter in the Boston seaport district.  In this discussion, Dr. Placke will share insights related to regulatory guidelines and requirements and clinical considerations. He will address specific requirements for non-GLP and GLP toxicology work, analytical support and API process chemistry and production approaches. He will lead us in discussion on understanding pharmacology, compound target, and how this drives the pre-clinical and clinical program design, PK, metabolism profiling and drug safety assessment.

Based in Concord, OH, Ricerca is one of the few CROs in the world that has chemical production with analytical characterization and drug safety and metabolism operations located on a single-campus. This co-location of services offers a uniquely integrated approach to efficiently and effectively advance a lead molecule from discovery through initial regulatory submission (IND) along with supporting development to market submission.   Serving the Pharmaceutical and Biotech industries, Ricerca is committed to a focused and continued investment into its core service offerings for global collaborative R&D services. Join us! Ricerca is hiring! Please visit our website to apply for one of our many open positions.
