2013 Futures in Life Science (FILS) Event Series

 

Are you a current graduate student (MBA, MPH, JD, Eng, Ph.D., MD etc,), post doctoral fellow, or medical resident, interested in learning about the variety of career paths ranging from R&D, consulting, commercial, business development, marketing, clinical, regulatory, medical affairs, bioinformatics, systems biology, modeling, pharmacoeconomics, reimbursement, patient advocacy, market access, finance, legal, and operations. If the answer to the above is yes, then join us for one or more of our events in this series.  

  

All of the FILS events are held at the MassBio offices at 300 Technology Square, 8th Floor, Cambridge MA from 5:30-8:00pm.  Together, Propel Careers, MassBio, and MassBioEd are committed to fostering the next generation of industry leaders in the life sciences. These events are tailored for graduate students, postdocs and medical residents and discuss exciting career paths in the life sciences industry in various functional areas.We look forward to seeing you there!   Registration Details will be available soon.  Dates are listed on our website:

Time: 4-5pm
Lauren will present to postdocs and Ph.D. 's on topics such as tailoring cover letters/resumes, transferrable skills that are valued in different types of positions, how to identify opportunities which could be a fit through networking, informational interviewing and on-line searching, what companies look for when evaluating candidates, and ways to enhance your "personal brand" through on-line tools such as Linkedin and Blogs.

Panel Career Discussion - Transitioning into Industry, organized by Mass General Postdoc Association

Time: 4-6pm   

Lauren will join a panel to discuss how postdocs transition into industry and the various career paths available.

 

January 4th, 2013

Brigham and Women's Hospital

Lauren will present to BWH postdocs to cover career paths in industry, resumes for different types of careers, networking, cultivating relationships, and events in the Boston area to build relationships and enhance a career search.
