God has fixed the schedule to his own workings according to his sovereign plan, and it is up to us to know how his system works so that we can be prepared to walk in whatever change that plan demands.  We have to know that heaven's agenda is not a closed system.  While it may be closed to those who are not positioned to know, it is available to any believer who has his ear bend toward heaven.  There is a way to recognize the order of divine things, and there is a way to live on the cutting edge of whatever heaven is about to do so that we are positioned to move into that arena.

POSITIONED FOR CHANGE
Living As Watchmen On the Wall

The scripture tells us, "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets" (Amos 3:7).  If that were true back under the Old Covenant, how much more should that be true under the New?  Daniel stood as a prophet in Israel, and when he set his heart toward heaven to pray about the words of Jeremiah concerning what God had showed him, that there was to be accomplished seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem, even while he spake, the angel Gabriel came and said to him: "I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding" (Dan. 9:22).
When Paul was given the charge to teach the mysteries of the kingdom, he said: "If you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: how that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words; whereby when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ,) which is other ages was not made known unto the sons of men as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit" (Eph. 3:2-5).   In other words, there were many things that were not revealed under the Old that are now available to us through the unveiling of the Holy Spirit.  One of the reasons why Daniel came to know and understand the words of Jeremiah was because he set his face toward heaven.  He was willing the pay the price by making supplication with fastings and watchings. While we are living under a New Covenant, established upon better promises, there is still much that is required of us to know and understand the things of God.
This is the dispensation of the Holy Ghost.  And because we have him living in us there is an unction from within that can bring us into the knowledge of all things (1 John 2:20).  That doesn't mean we are know-it-alls, but it does mean we do not have to live in the dark about heaven's agenda or be clueless when it comes to what heaven has on its schedule.
That's why it is so important to build a relationship with the Holy Spirit.  He is the true Seer!  And when we live our lives under his guidance then he makes available to us a divine knowledge that helps us get into position for whatever change heaven has planned.
That was certainly one of the things that characterized the ministry of Jesus.  He was always in step with heaven's plan.  He always knew what the Father had scheduled to do, and he walked in a spirit of seeing and knowing.  John writes in his epistle, "He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked" (1 John 2:6). The word abide means; to remain, to continue, to dwell, to stay put.  It also means to last, to endure, and to not perish!  There is a place in Christ where we can stay put, fixed in position so that we walk even as he walked, so that we know what he knew and not perish for lack of knowledge.
Every one of us is called to be watchmen.  Under the Old Covenant certain ones were set in place to fill that role, but under the New Covenant we are all called to be seers.  That's why Paul prayed, "That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened..." (Eph. 1: 17, 18).  He prayed that for the whole church.  I believe each one of us has the potential of living in a place where there is nothing that heaven wants done on earth that we are not fully informed and prepared to walk in.  We are living in a time of divine change.  A shift has begun, and there are things that the enemy is feverishly seeking to do to distract our position for what lies ahead. That is why we have to stay close to the Holy Ghost.  And, it is also why we must keep in mind that one of the gravest tools of the enemy is to counterfeit the real deal!  Don't be duped by things that may appear to be heading in the right direction.  Find that place in Christ where you are always ahead of the enemy, because you are willing to pay the price to pray and to hear from heaven.  If you will learn to catch the whispering of heaven you will live in the know, even on the very cutting edge of a true watchmen on the wall.

PRAYER
Father, this is a sober time to be living and I want to stay on track with heaven's agenda.  So, I ask you today to keep me informed.  Help me to hear the things that you are saying and be prepared to step into your full plan for my life.  In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

CONFESSION
I have my hand on the pulse of the Holy Ghost.  Everything that comes from the very heart of God I purpose to be in sync with.  Nothing takes me by surprise.  I live in the know because I have the knower living in me.

DEFINING MOMENTS...
One of the greatest experiences I have had in my Christian walk, especially as a pastor, is to have the Holy Spirit show me things I had never seen or teach me things I had never known.  This has literally brought me to the place where I am today.  We should all be aware that we are living in the age of spiritual enlightenment.  That is why the Bible calls us "children of light."  If there is any indictment against the church today it is over this area.   The people of God should have such full understanding of heaven's system and how things work that they are never duped by the enemy.  This is not a time to rule the Holy Ghost out or treat with slackness his administrative capabilities! We will always be in need of his guidance and instruction. That is why now is a time to draw ever so close and give him full charge of our lives and ministries.
