One of the most profound statements the Holy Spirit ever said to me was: "If you have received the life of God, then what is keeping you from living the life that God lives?" Indeed, there is no greater truth that will assure our hearts of living in connection with heaven than grasping this fact: If we have heaven's life living in us, then we should be experiencing life as heaven has it!
So what do you think is the difference between those who have come to possess God's life from the individual who is being possessed by God's life? Did you know there is a difference? Absolutely! Jesus himself said, "I have come that you might have life, and that you might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10). In other words, you can have life in a measure or you can have life beyond measure. One translation says, "...that ye might have it in an overflowing measure." Anything that reaches a place of overflow is beyond measure, because you have no way of determining how much is being distributed. It's incalculable!
When life reaches a place of overflow it is more than something you possess, but rather something that possesses you. F.F. Bosworth said in his book, "Christ the Healer" - "When (life) is received in sufficient measure it will live itself." Life, God's life, is intended to take you over. This is what Paul meant when he said, "...it is no longer I that liveth, but Christ which liveth in me" (Ga. 2:20). When life comes to a place where it takes over your life then heaven has secured its stake in you. There are things that heaven wants to do in you and through you, but it is not going to occur automatically. Even though you have a connection to heaven through the life of God, it does not mean you are going to automatically live spiritually connected in a viable way. The scriptures are abundantly clear on this truth! People can be born again and live disconnected from heaven!
Let me give you an example: You can have the Electric Company tie into your service panel so that you have sufficient power to service your home, but if all the breakers are off then it is as if you have no service. Nothing is working like it should because the power isn't on! The life of God is what keeps the power of heaven turned on in your life! The more you activate the flow of life, then the greater the flow of heaven will be! It is all up to you to determine how much you desire heaven to manifest in you and through you.
But now here is the key. Paul said, "Grace reigns through righteousness unto eternal life" (Rom. 5:21). There are two very important truths stated in this verse. One is: the way you access this life is through reigning grace. And secondly, grace can only reach a place where it becomes the ruling influence of heaven over your life when you understand what it means to be the righteousness of God. Consider this: Reigning Grace is when heaven becomes the dominant force in your life. It is when you come to that place where you have tip the scales and the realities of heaven are more real and more active in you than the things of this world! In other words, your prayer life becomes more real. The blessings of God begin to overtake you. The favor of God begins to create opportunity after opportunity where heaven is now influencing everything around you!
