MOMENTS OF MEDITATION

Each one of us has been called for a specific purpose. That calling is so vast it staggers the mind just to think of all God has planned for us. Unfortunately though, we will never fully know what awaits us if we don't give ourselves totally and completely to it. Our calling must surface, but it can only surface when we search for it with all our hearts.
God put in us, in Christ, things that hinge upon our discovery. It's like nuggets of gold hidden deep within the rock. They are hidden in him, and only as we determine within our heart to dig deep can we find things that are designed to take us to places we never dreamed possible.

BORN OF NECESSITY
FINDING YOUR PLACE IN GOD'S PLAN

"Who hath saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began."
                                                                      - 2 Tim. 1:9

Something wonderful happened the moment you and I said yes to Jesus Christ coming into our hearts. A door was opened. It was a door of destiny. As long as we remained children of darkness, we stood in the outer corridor of God's eternal purpose. That door was locked shut and we had no access to it. David described it as "spending our years as a tale that is told" (Psa. 90:9). Literally that means, without redemption we were destined to come to the end of our life with nothing to show for it except a sigh of regret.
One of the most devastating tragedies in life is not dying while we are young, even before our time. What's tragic is having lived even a full life without purpose. There have been many great men in this world that died young, but oh what a legacy they left! Men such as: Robert McCheyne and David Brainerd. Both only lived until they were the age of twenty-nine, but they shock the world they lived in with such powerful purpose! I think about our Lord and how he only lived until he was thirty-three years old, and yet John writes: "And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written" (John 21:25). To think of such a life as his, and then to imagine that he accomplished all that he did in just three and a half years!

"Our lives have the architect's stamp upon it, a stamp that reveals the design or blueprint to our purpose."

Each and every day of your life is a story being unveiled. It is intended to tell a story written long ago, even before the foundation of the world. God established his purpose for your life in Christ before the world began. The very fact that you exist today, means God saw you as a necessity. Your life is just as necessary in the scheme of things as the air you breathe. God has never made anything that did not serve a purpose, and you are certainly part of his overall plan marked with a specific purpose.
One of the Greek words for "purpose" is PROTHESIS. It means something that is fixed beforehand. A good example would be a blueprint. When an architect designs a structure he details how it is to look on paper. Nothing has been built as of yet, but the blueprint becomes an image of the final product. Our lives have the architect's stamp upon it, a stamp that reveals the design or blueprint to our purpose. That blueprint was carefully wrought in Christ locked away until we come to know him as our Lord and Savior. Now that we are born again and have become children of light, we have access to gaze upon the final draft and see what awaits us.
As you begin to imagine the details of God eternal purpose try to see where you fit in. What is your destiny? What are you here to do? What part are you going to be responsible for in the building plan of God? There are so many of God's children who remain aloof to where they are most needed. Their lives have become cluttered with various distractions that have robbed them of the passion to discover their real purpose. But all that can change and it can change today!
There is a cause, a very real and necessary cause for you being alive at this very moment. You have more to live for than you may even realize. Your part is critical, and the more you give yourself to discovering your purpose the more that call beckons you to answer it with determination to be all you can be in him!*

PRAYER
Father, today, I look to you to help me realize the cause for my life. Show me where I fit in. Help me see my purpose and enable me with your mighty power to step through that door of destiny and discover all that you have awaiting me, In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

CONFESSION
I am a person of purpose. God created me because there was a need for my life. My life carries destiny. Therefore, I purpose this day to begin my search with an even greater sense of determination that every day holds within it my part in God's eternal plan!

DEFINING MOMENTS...
Your inner strength is tied to your destiny. The closer to come to knowing your purpose the stronger you become. You have to become mindful that your life has a call upon it. Something is beckoning you. What that is lies within the grasp of your own discovery. It's not going to just happen. It takes initiative and determination to find your place in Christ Jesus and allow him to bring about the Father's cause and what part you hold in the scheme of things. Make that decision today that you have far more to live for than just a brief sigh. You are marked. You are chosen. You were born of necessity as part of God's eternal plan!
