MOMENTS OF MEDITATION

Each one of us has a designed purpose. But it is not the kind of thing that automatically materializes just because a plan has been chosen as destiny for our lives. What is designed requires more than just a proposal. We must choose to pursue it with our whole heart and that without weakening.
I have come to realize that much of what awaits us is determined by our willingness to go through doors of change. Change is something that is inevitable. Every day we grow, we learn, we discover, and we experience change is almost every facet of life. It is all part of the process of living. Destiny is also a process, and it demands changes in many different aspects of our lives that are not always comfortable or understandable. That is why trust must become the determining factor if our hope is ever going to bring us the desired outcome to our determined end.

OUR DETERMINED END
UNDERSTANDING THE PROCESS OF DESTINY

"These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth and no man openeth."
                                                                                           - Revelation 3:7

Every day we pass through doors of some kind, whether they are common doors or unexpected doors. Our home or business doors would certainly qualify as common. But what might be considered unexpected are doors that lead to changing conditions for good and sometimes not so good. It might be a new door of opportunity, something we have wished for a long time to come. Or, it might be a door to a hospital or prison that is totally unforeseen and certainly unwanted.
Doors are openings or passageways that take us out of one place and bring us into another. Some doors are more significant than others. Some can be exciting and adventurous while other doors can be disheartening or disappointing. No one likes going through doors that present hardship or lost. Unfortunately, life sometimes poses these unexpected doors that we don't welcome or care to have to go through.
The same thing is true concerning what God has purposed for our lives. We might be facing doors of opportunity, doors of advancement, but occasionally we experience doors that require a much deeper side of trust where we are faced with the uncertainty of the outcome.
Not every situation we face in life is picture perfect. Not everything we face on the road to destiny is either. We have to be prepared for whatever comes and never let our desire to reach our determined end become clouded by unforeseen conditions of change that tries to weaken our faith.
No one ever starts out where they are ultimately meant to be and it is certain that none of us will arrive at our destined end by mere chance or through some lucky break. There are too many unforeseen factors involved for destiny to just come on its own. We must give hope its supporting cast of faith and patience.
God wants us to live in the expectancy of doors opening up to us that are designed to help us fulfill our purpose until we reach our determined end. Paul talked about having finished his course (2 Tim. 4:7). When Jesus hung on the cross, he said, "It is finished!" (John 19:30). There is even a scripture that tells us that John the Baptist finished his course, although his life was taken sooner than expected (Acts 13:25).
I think if we are truly honest with ourselves we know deep down on the inside that life carries purpose and that there is even a higher purpose than just what we do from a natural point of view. We carry within us potential to be much more than we have become. If we are ever going to reach that purpose we have to understand the process to getting there. It won't fall on us like ripe cherries off a tree. We have to make up our mind that God does have a very special proposal that we need to accept and pursue. If we trust him, he will open the doors to take us where we need to go and he will certainly close the doors that serve only to hinder our progress. God gives us the choice as well as the means, but it ultimately rests in our determination to run our course without being weakened in our resolve...we can do this, if we can believe it can be done!*

PRAYER
Father, today, I am asking you to help me live in the anticipation of doors opening up to me, doors of opportunity, doors of utterance, doors of empowerment and enlightenment, even doors of faith that will lift me to a new level of my awareness of destiny. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

CONFESSION
I purpose in my heart that I will not live my life by mere happenstance. I choose to target something much bigger than chance. I choose to pursue my designed purpose with faith, hope, and patience. I set my sights on something much bigger than what I can accomplish. I set my sights on what I know he wants to accomplish in me and through me if I will become destiny-minded and purpose driven.

DEFINING MOMENTS...

We often hear the phrase, "The hand of God is on this person" or "The hand of God is on that person." The fact is, God's hand rests on all of us, but to experience the weight of it we must be willing to humble ourselves before him. Peter said, "Humble yourself therefore under the mighty hand of God that he may exalt you in due time" (1 Pet. 5:6). That means we must surrender to his will, his way, and whatever process he wants to take us through to get us to where we need to be.
Destiny is like climbing a set of stairs. We have to take one step at a time. None of us are going to arrive automatically, and none of us are going to arrive without a fight. If you want to finish your course then know that there are doors that await you. Doors you must go through. Not doors of regret or doors of sadness and gloom. But rather doors of purpose designed to bring you into whatever he has destined for you. Being a person of destiny means you are constantly on the lookout for change. You learn to look with anticipation because you trust the hand of God to open whatever avenue needs to be opened, and you are not afraid to make whatever adjustments are necessary.
