There is a place of awareness that lies before each and every one of us.  It is a place of seeing and knowing where we discover things that God has for us.  In order for us to access this realm we have to develop a part of our being that can catch it.  So much passes by that we miss out on because we are so tied to the natural realm.  We see, but we do not perceive.  We hear, but we do not understanding.  God has equipped us with a detection system that is designed to help us maneuver through life at a much higher level of perceptibility, but it all rests upon our determined purpose.

MY DETERMINED PURPOSE

A Heightened Awareness for the Unseen

"For my determined purpose is that I may know Him...that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His person more strongly and more clearly. And that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection (which it exerts over believers), and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed (in spirit into His likeness even) to His death..."

- Philippians 3:10 (Amplified Bible)

One of the great truths we have come to realize within the Christian faith is that God has a knowledge-base available to each and every one of us that comes directly from heaven where we can learn and develop an understanding of spiritual realities apart from our natural senses.  Jesus explained it to Peter when he told him,"Flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven" (Matt. 16:17).    According to the apostle John,"We have an unction from the Holy One, and we know all things" (1 John 2:20).  That clearly explains the fact that we have a "knower" on the inside that is capable of communicating things that we cannot see or know from any natural standpoint, but can certainly enable us to see and know from within.
In other words, there is a place of perceptibility that goes far beyond our natural awareness's, where we can see things that appear unseeable, and know things that appear unknowable.  When the apostle Paul wrote his second epistle to the church of Corinth he spoke of the abundance of revelations he had been given (2 Cor. 12:7).  He even said,"I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord" (2 Cor. 12:1).  How could Paul become so assertive in his conviction that he would continue to have these experiences? It was because he knew deep within that this was the way Jesus intended for his church to function. If you continue reading what Jesus said to Peter, after he had come to the knowledge of such a heavenly truth, he said,"And upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it" (Matt. 16:18).
The entire process of our spiritual development is founded upon this truth, which we have come to coin as a phrase often described as"revelation knowledge."
Paul not only spoke of what he expected to receive for himself, but he made it a point to pray without ceasing that the churches would experience the same thing. In Ephesians chapter one, he said:"That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him..." (Eph. 1:17).
I find it very interesting that the Greek word used here for "knowledge" is EPIGNOSIS.  The Amplified Bible describes it as"deep and intimate" knowledge.   What revelation knowledge provides is the ability to draw near to a particular truth that is too distant from our natural sense realm to detect.
In fact, the word"perceive" has for its root meaning, to be intimate.Intimacy, of course, means to have close contact or to draw near to.

The closer you get to something the clearer it becomes.  You pick up on more of the details than you would you naturally detect from a distance.  This is how it is with revelation knowledge. We have available to us a means of detecting things that draws us closer and closer to truths that are undetectable to our natural senses.  It is imperative that we learn how to catch or perceive things that are critical to our lives, our families, our church, our job, and even our ministries.  God does not want us to be in the dark!  We have a right to see and know, even concerning things we deal with on an everyday basis!

Paul came to that place in his life where he made it his determined purpose to know all that Christ accomplished for him.  What drove him was a passion to know in such intimate detail the fullness of his redemptive privileges.

There are so many wonderful believers in the body of Christ, who simply miss the more intimate details to their Christian faith because they aren't living more out of what is in them.   If we are to catch things that will actually put us in the driver's seat of life, we have to develop a hunger to know what belongs to us.Being in the "know" and seeing things by the Holy Spirit is part of our rights as a believer. When Paul said,
"I follow after" or "I press toward the mark," he was describing an intense effort to arrive at his determined purpose.  The word that his used was the Greek word DIOKO.  Literally, it means to run swiftly toward something in order to catch it; to seek eagerly something in order to acquire it.  Is that your heart today?  Is there something inside you that pulls you to a place of intimacy to see and to know things that are beyond your natural senses, so that you can live in a place of an abundance of revelation?  It is yours, if you will make it your determined purpose!
PRAYER

Father, today I ask you to bring me to a place of intimacy to where I am able to see and know things that will help me live a more productive Christian life.  Bring me near to the truths of my redemption.  Let me see with minute detail the vast storehouse of knowledge I possess within my "knower."  And help me become more capable of walking in the revelation of your Word. In Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen.

CONFESSION

God has called me to walk in the light as he is in the light.  God is light and in him is no darkness at all. Therefore, today I declare I have clear insight into all that I need to see and know. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord.

DEFINING MOMENTS...

Somewhere back at the turn of the century, I came to the realization that just as Paul declared,
"I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord"
I found this was something I could claim as well.
I made it a point to confess,"I WILL come to visions and revelations of the Lord!"

It took awhile, but something began to happen around the end of 2010. Suddenly, I stepped over into a place of revelation, that to be perfectly honest, helped me see things in such a new way that I had to ask myself, "Where had I been all these years?"  It appeared to me that I knew nothing like I thought I knew.  Then in 2012, things began to come in a much more accelerate rate. Since then, I have entered into a season in my life where there is an open heaven of things I had never seen and I had never known!

Thank God for that determined purpose that has changed my life forever!

In His Grace,
