Greetings!

The work that Christ accomplished for us is so far reaching that Paul called it the "Unsearchable Riches of Christ." One translation says it is "unfathomable." The Greek says it is "untraceable or past finding out!" We cannot begin to know its full depth, but we can make every effort to search diligently in apprehending that for which we have been apprehended. Don't settle for a morsel of bread when God has provided you with a storehouse of blessing. |

THE HEALING SAVIOR
LETTING CHRIST BECOME YOUR GREAT PHYSICAN |
John Alexander Dowie once said, "Sickness is the foul offspring of its father Satan and its mother sin." I would certainly have to agree that this statement sums it up precisely. There is nothing about sickness, infirmity, pain, anguish, or disease that suggests any sort of blessing from heaven. These are common enemies that seek to oppress our ability to function with the strength of God for his divine purpose.
It saddens my heart when I hear folks make such a statement as: "Well, the Lord put this sickness on me to teach me something!" When you take a thought, such as this, and size it up to the great realities of redemption, it just simply makes no sense at all. Why would God put something on a person when it is so clear in the Word of God that Jesus "went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with him?" If God intended for sickness to be our teacher, then why would he have Jesus go about interrupting and interfering with the lessons he intended to be taught through the school of sickness. No, my brothers and sisters. If there is anything we learn from sickness it is that God never intended such a hideous and evil predator to be part of his plan for man. Sickness and all the ills of this world are devilish in nature. They come to steal, to kill, and to destroy.
When Jesus entered into his ministry he spent nearly seventy percent of his time healing the sick. The apostle John points out: "For this purpose was the Son of God manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil" (1 John 3:8). Everywhere he went he sought to touch his generation with God's healing power. To assure our hearts that it was not just for a select few or for just one generation, he included healing in the atonement of the cross so that it would be available for all generations that followed. The scripture is abundantly clear on this truth: "Himself took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses and that with his stripes we were healed" (Isa. 53:4; Matt. 8:17; 1 Pet. 2:24).
Never let your body decide your position in Christ. The reality that you are healed by the stripes of Jesus stands equal to the truth that your old man was crucifed with Christ...
There is a great revelation to be had in recognizing Jesus as our Healer. Just as we look to the Lord to save us from our sins, we are to look to him to save us from any offspring that comes as a result of sin-that includes sickness and disease, poverty and lack. One of my favorite verses in the Bible says, "The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it" (Pro. 10:22). James said, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning" (Jam. 1:17). If Jesus went about doing good and healing (which the scripture states that God was with him), then according to this statement in James, healing should be considered as a gift from God, a position from which God never changes or varies. After all, why would he when he included it in the work of the cross?
If you were to slip up and miss God in any area of your life, where would you go to correct it? Who would you look to in order to forgive you of your sin? You would look to the Lord, right? If Jesus died for your sicknesses just as surely as he died for your sins, then why would you look to anyone else to receive your healing? To seek another source for the salvation of your body would be like seeking another source for the forgiveness of your sin. If he paid the price for your wholeness-spirit, soul, and body, then he is the one you must learn to turn to in resolving any issue you face in life. When he becomes Lord over your body just as he is Lord over your heart and soul, then healing will be just as easy to receive as forgiveness of your sins.* |

PRAYER
Father, today is my day of salvation. Now is my accepted time. I call upon you to be my healer, my deliverer, my sole source and provision for every area of my life. I make you Lord over my body just as I have made you Lord over my life. I claim my full redemptive right to be well-to be whole-to be sound in spirit, soul, and body. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen. |

CONFESSION
I refuse to let the enemy have any place in my life. My body is off limits to him. I stand my ground and resist him in the faith. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and I will glorify God in my body. I call Jesus my Healer-my Healing Savior. Every organ in my body, every cell, every joint and muscle, I call you into divine order today. You are healed. You are well. You will function as God designed for you to function. I decree and declare it to be so in Jesus' name! |
|
DEFINING MOMENTS...
Just as you have to resist temptation to sin, you have to resist the temptation to be sick. When your body begins to show signs of weakness or infirmity, you have to stand your ground against it. God created your body to house your spirit. You are on this earth to carry out God's divine mission and commission. You need a well body to capably serve the will of God in your full capacity. Sickness and disease are oppressive enemies to slow down and retard your assignment. Don't allow it a place in your life. Rise up and declare Jesus as your Healing Savior. Claim that which is yours, and live well all the days of your life!
In His Grace,
Pastor David
