Greetings!

One of the characteristics to the Life of God, which needs to be acquired in every believer's thinking, is that it is measurable. In other words, there is an endless supply available to you where you can have life in an overflowing measure (John 10:10). That doesn't mean you only received part of God's life when you became born again. Life is not proportioned out like slices cut out of a pie. You didn't just get a sliver. You got the full package deal. By measure, I mean that you can make use of what is in you to access all that you possess in Christ, if you learn how to connect to the unction of the Holy Spirit. |

STEWARDSHIP
RESOURCING THE THINGS OF HEAVEN |
"But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and
ye know all things."
1 John 2:20
If there is anything I have learned about the unction of the Holy Spirit it is the fact that God gave it to us to secure our sacred engagement with heaven. The Amplified Bible calls this unction a sacred appointment. It is a sacred summons to connect us to the life that God lives. The unction brings us close to Christ, who is the Anointed One. It is the tangible current that flows between heaven and earth. Without it, we would never know the realities of God's holy presence living in us. We need this unction to steward the mysteries of God (1 Cor. 4:1). That is why it is so critical that we not only recognize its value, but that we learn how to flow with it. More importantly, how to protect it!
The Bible says, "It is required of stewards, that a man be found faithful" (1 Cor. 4:2). There are always going to be things that come along in life that will try to disconnect you from the unction, but you must do everything within your power to treat it as your sacred and most valued possession. Treasure it. Guard it. Stay close to it, and never let anything turn you from it or disrupt the flow of it in your life!
There is a life principle that lives in you as a believer. Sometimes you can become so engaged in natural things that you are unresponsive to it, almost as if it lies dormant or undetectable. However, this life force is the source of true stewardship. You have to know it is in you, and you have to know how to connect to it. That's why the unction is so important. You have this resident life in you because the Spirit of Christ has made his home in you. John said, "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in the Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life" (1 John 5:11, 12). God put his life in you so that you can become tied to him--where you have access to his wisdom and abilities. The quickening power of this life is what gives you an acute awareness to the realities of the heavenly sphere. If you disregard it, then you are distancing your vital connection to heaven, which is the very reason why some many of God's children remain outside the loop to spiritual things. They don't know how to navigate through the unseen realm because they aren't familiar with how the unction to this life works.
As a believer, life should be the driving force that compels you, that carries you, that guides you, and lives through you...
Eternal life is the biggest word in the gospel. John chapter one says, "In him was life; and the life was the light of men" (John 1:4). In chapter five it reads: "As the Father hath life in himself, so has he given to the Son to have life in himself" (John 5:26). When you come over into John chapter ten, Jesus said, "I have come that ye might have life, and that ye might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10). Think about what this means: the Father has life, Jesus has life, and he has come that you might have life. The very same life that resonates throughout heaven, and flows in and through the Father and the Son is what lives in you, as a believer.
As you focus on building your life through this life, something is going to happen that ultimately will change your outlook on stewardship. You'll feel the pulsation of heaven lifting you up to a life of power and victory. John said,
"For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith" (1 John 5:4). Twentieth Century New Testament says, "All that derived its Life from God masters the world. This is the power that has mastered the world-our faith." Nothing can overpower the life of God anymore than it could overpower heaven. It is important for you to understand that God's life in you has conquering power, and it is faith in this life that connects you to victory. Once you understand this, then your awareness of heaven will become much more acute, and your understanding of victory will lift you above the influences of the world.
Life holds all that heaven holds. Stop and think about that for a moment. What it is that makes heaven so vibrant and alive? What empowers its very atmosphere with God's glory? It is the life of God--the very essence of all that he is! Every particle, every element that exists in that heavenly sphere is charged with life. There is the tree of life, the book of life, the river of life, the Father of life, even the Lord Jesus, who referred to himself as the Bread of life (1 John 1:1). Everything about heaven contains life, and when you live this life you are living a part of heaven, even while you live down here below.
If there is one thing that occurs when you make living this life your ultimate quest, is it will summon your heart to become joined to the will of God. Everything that drives the anointing will begin to drive you. In your prayer life, in your faith, in your ministry - everything will be affected. The life of God will motivate you and compel you until the anointing becomes the signature on your life. This is what living the life of God will provide. It is what will enable you to resource the things that heaven has waiting for you as a steward over the things of God. * |

PRAYER
Father, I thank you today for life. I thank you for connecting me to heaven through the unction of this life. I know I have a right to all that heaven possesses, because I am in right standing with you. You have given me life through Jesus Christ, and I choose today to draw upon the resources that heaven holds for me, in Jesus' Name, I pray. Amen. |
CONFESSION
I will live my life out of this life. I will make the connection to that which I know is heavenly. This divine unction that now lives permanently in me has quickening power. Therefore, today, I will look within to this quickening life, and I will not allow the oppression of this world to pull me down. I am alive, because he is alive. I am above only and not beneath, because he is risen up on high, and I am seated with him in heavenly places! |
DEFINING MOMENTS...
Life is what pulls you into the very center of God's will. You need the life of God to possess the reins of your heart. You need to recognize that you are not just human. Your body may be mortal, and all that functions within the realm of your senses are human, but inside your spirit you possess super-human qualities. When you look into a mirror you see a human being, but when you look into the mirror of God's Word you see a new creature--you see a heavenly creature that may be robed in flesh, but possesses a heavenly life filled with all kinds of possibilities!
In His Grace,
Pastor David
