Much of what we think is spontaneous. Most of what we do is un-premeditated. A good example would be driving a stick-shift car or truck. We go through the motion of using our hands and feet to change gears, almost unconsciously. Our minds have been trained to believe everything we see and hear, and so it becomes a natural tendency to let our senses govern the way we live. God wants us to become renewed in the "spirit" of our minds so that we think outside the box of our limited senses. If God created each of us in his image, then surely the Holy Spirit can transform our thinking so that we think like he thinks. After all, the Bible clearly tells us, "We have the mind of Christ" (1 Cor. 2:16).

A New Mind for the New Man

LIFTING THE LIMITS OFF OUR MIND

"And be renewed in the spirit of your mind."

                                                                 Ephesians 4:23

During the spring of 2012, I went through a three week period where I dreamed what I was to preach before each service. The Lord visited me in my night season and taught me things that I hadn't quite put together concerning some things he had already spoken to me about six months prior to these unusual encounters. In all the years of being in ministry (this year will be thirty-five to be exact), this has only happened on occasion, and never three weekends in a row. It was quite an awesome experience, to say the least. Part of what came about, as a result of these visitations, was a new understanding concerning a liberty to move in the things of God.

To start with, let me take you back to what initiated this whole process. In November 2011, I was seeking the Lord about what to minister to our church. In my season of meditation, I heard in my spirit the word "Change." Immediately I grabbed a hold of it, and starting seeking the Lord to make clear what kind of change he was referring to. Suddenly, he spoke up in me and said, "A shift is coming...a change will take place. There is some turning that is about to happen, and it is going to affect everything, not only in the natural but also in the spiritual." I knew what was coming was going to be a prophetic change that would usher the Church into a new dimension of ministry.

"To prove the good, the acceptable, and perfect will of God requires both an exploration and excavation. You must seek to find and you must dig to uncover the hidden mysteries of the kingdom of God."

Later on in the spring, just before these dreams started occurring, I was sitting in our Bible School listening to one of our instructors teach when I heard these words by the Holy Ghost: "There is a liberty to move." I wrote those words down. Just as I finished writing, more began to come. This is what I heard: "There is so much that I want to do, things I want to impart, things I want to see stirred up that has already been imparted, but things have been confined because of man's thinking. His mind has stood in the way of much of what I want to see done. But there is a liberty coming. It is all part of the shift..." (Note: I realized right then that he was speaking to me about the prophetic change that he told me was going to occur). He went on to say, "There is a new mind that will lift you out of the mind of man, into the mind of the Spirit. When this is accomplished, then a new liberty to move will come. Right now things are wanting, because the mind is restricting the flow. It may not be a conscious thing, but it is still restricting the flow. You have to draw back from the natural tendencies to think like a man and start thinking like a God-man, and then will come the liberty, and then will come the release of things that are wanting." When I heard that I determined in my heart that I was going to do whatever it took to change my thinking. Over these past nine months some incredible revelation has come that has helped me see why we must address issues concerning our mind, and why it is so necessary that we be renewed in the "spirit" of our minds.

We all know there is a liberty that occurred within our spirit the moment we became born again. That has been something we have all been taught over and over again. How God made us new creatures, and that we are to live and walk in the Spirit. However, very few of us have come to really understand what it means to be renewed in the "spirit" of our mind. The vast majority of God's people find themselves confined to certain limitations because they think with their senses more than they think with their spirit. I am convinced that God is about to lift many of us, who are willing to made this renewal our primary goal, out of the mind of man into the mind of the Spirit! What will come of this new mind is a realm of wisdom and understanding far beyond our capabilities through natural learning into the thought processes and ways of God. You talk about a liberty to move! This will bring such vision, such renewal of purpose, such awareness of heavenly things and such increase, that a major shift will begin to occur within the church that will bring her full circle. The same mighty power that occurred during the days of the apostles will usher her into a new found apostolic era of power, elevating her to a new dimension of ministry and living. *

PRAYER

Father, I thank you for giving me a new mind. I believe you to lift the limitations off of my thinking, so that I can think your thoughts and operate in a totally new dimension, just as Jesus lived and operated his life while here on this earth. I desire to see a shift and a change take place in me this year, for your glory. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.

CONFESSION

I choose today to be renewed in the "spirit" of my mind. I am expecting things to be revealed to me by the Holy Spirit that will enable me to have a liberty to move and flow in the realm of the Spirit. I refuse to be one-dimensional minded. I can think outside of the religious box because I am the redeemed, and I have the mind of Christ.

DEFINING MOMENTS...

Sin broke the flow of heaven and put a cap on our mental capabilities. Albert Einstein discovered in his research of the mind that only about 10% of its potential has been reached. I truly believe in my heart that the 90%, still unattained, is contained within the "spirit" of our mind. There is a dimension to living that only the Holy Spirit can bring us into where our real heavenly enablement and empowerment resides. You talk about the church taking her place as the stewards of the mysteries of God...this is where it lies. We must tap into the new mind for the new man if we are ever going to reach our potential!
