On June 23rd at 5:40AM Teal Kawana ,a turle surveyor for the Village of Key Biscayne, answered a call about a 300 lbs Logger Head turtle that had wandered into the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center. Teal recruited the help of Crandon Park turtle surveyor Alex Martinez, and loaded the massive turtle onto his truck. "We drove it back to beach and let it go. It eventually swam away into the sunrise" says Teal.
