First Annual Speed Networker- Time Change to 6:00 pm. Come to watch the fun and have a glass of wine. 

                                                                             

By popular demand, we are changing the time of the Networker on Thursday to begin at 6:00 pm so those Heat fans can find a TV and get comfortable before the big game. We hope it does not effect your ability to attend, as you can join in when you arrive, even if it is the originally planned 6:30.Forget Speed Dating, Try Speed Networking! The Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce and BB&T Bank, are hosting the First Annual Speed Networker.Cheese and wine will be served. Seating is limited to 50 Chamber members. Please bring a minimum of 50 business cards and a prepared , 2 minute "elevator speech" that could include:Who you are, Where you work, and What you do for the Company. Dr. John Martin on Channel 10 tonight at 11 pm

At his South Florida cosmetic surgery practice, John Martin, M.D. sees more than his fair share of patients who have had illegal filler work done.
"For better or worse, I'm becoming known for taking care of these patients," Dr. Martin says. "It's slow-going and very difficult. Once you've seen a couple, then a lot start coming in and getting referred by other patients." 
Dr. Martin will be discussing his experience with treatment of illegal fillers and the complications that come with it tonight at 11 pm on channel 10. Be sure to watch. Rajee Narinesingh will also be joining Dr. Martin to discuss illegal filler injections.

Volunteers and homes needed for Key Biscayne Cats 
 

Key Biscayne kittens will be shown for adoption at Winn Dixie this weekend ,June 7, 2014 - June 8, 2014, and volunteers are needed  to show kittens.Teens can earn 

community service credit for their time.  Featured will be a loving mother cat and a litter of five kittens. If they don't get permanently adopted, temporary foster homes will be needed. All felines have had medical exams, vaccinations and boast a clean bill of health! At six months of age, each will be eligible for free spaying or neutering at Island Veterinary Hospital. If you can donate 2 hours of your day on any of the chosen dates above, Please text Jill Stephens at (786) 302-2327.

Marine Biology Summer Camp 2014

 

Professor Gerard Loisel has taught marine biology to students of all ages for more than 3 decades and is former host of the PBS television series Marine Aquarium World.During camp, kids will explore the rocky inter-tidal zone at Bear Cut, learn about interesting marine animals, visit the Miami Seaquarium, learn to tag fish for scientific research and much more.

  1. Session 1- June 9-13 
  2. Session 2-June 6-20 
  3. Session 3- July 14-18
  4. Session 4- July 20-August 1

  VIP Preview Party for 12 Stadiums 12 Cities exhibit
 

The exhibit is divided into three sections: Cities, Stadiums and Urban Soccer Culture. The cities will be represented by extraordinary photos by native artistic photographers who will share their unique view of their communities. The stunning new stadiums will be showcased through architectural photos, drawings and models. The exhibition will also include video, interactive kiosks and objects that depict the soccer club fans' culture, showing how soccer permeates the urban life in all the cities. 

June 5 - 6 - 9 p.m. - VIP Opening of the exhibition 12 Stadiums 12 Cities: Brazil 2014 World Soccer Destination at the Coral Gables Museum (285 Aragon Ave.). Brazilian music, drinks, food, and surprises. $25 for non-Museum Members.

June 6 - 4-6 p.m. - Panel with architects Fernando Balvedi and Sergio Coelho and journalist Rodrigo Prada, founder of the Portal da Copa 2014. The panel will be moderated by architect Alice Cimring, FIU professor.

A not to be missed event: the architects of two of the new stadiums - Estadio Beira-Rio (Fernando Balvedi) and Arena Pantanal (Sergio Coelho) will present their projects and talk about the experience of designing these emblematic new arenas of the World Cup.

June 8 - 6 p.m. - Roberto DaMatta, one of the most important Brazilian anthropologists and thinkers, will talk about the place of soccer in Brazilian culture and his latest book "A Bola Corre Mais Do Que Os Homens".
