"A colour-sense is more important, in the development of the individual, than a sense of right or wrong."- Oscar Wilde

Choosing clothes that compliment your skin tone
doesn't have to be stressful- it just takes a small investment of your time and energy. You can clothe yourself in great color combinations by following these few simple steps:

Whenever possible, view potential clothing purchases in natural light. The fluorescent lighting in most stores and offices can distort a fabric's true color.

Gather shirt swatches in several shades of the same color. Hold them under your chin while looking at yourself in the mirror. When a particular shade makes you look worn out or discolored, set them aside. If you are unsure as to how the color makes your skin look, trust your instinct about wether you like or dislike the color. We tend to like tones that look best on us.

Group together the selections that make your skin look healthy and robust. You will find most of your chosen fabrics, wether light or dark tones, fall into one of the four seasonal "families".

The Winter family contains rich, saturated shades like burgundy, navy and dark green. Spring colors are fresh and fun featuring tones of pale blue, light green and yellow. Summer colors are brighter and more whimsical with hues in warm reds, steel blue, and medium greens or purples.  The Autumn family contains golden browns, brick reds and olive greens.

Once you have determined your best colors, build your wardrobe around them. Wear what looks great on you and makes you look great while wearing it.
