Brother Knights

Our fraternal year is drawing to a close and with it the conclusion for many of our programs. An event remains which is our most visible presence in the Kansas City area. The Snake Saturday Parade is 14th March at 11:00 am. Come and join us, walk with us, ride in the wagon, or gear up as part of the Honor Guard. It's a wonderful opportunity to show Kansas City our Knights of Columbus and the many things we do for the community

Our council coordinates the fish fries held at St. Charles during Lent this year. The proceeds benefit 5 charity groups.

Programs and Services

Greetings, brother knights. I am probably going to point out some things our GK will also put in his letter, so bear with me.As you all know elections are just around the corner and no one has stepped forward to be our new deputy GK. We are also in dire need of some service program chairpersons. For the last year we have not had a membership chair. If you or you know of someone who might be interested in these positions  please let me know. We have several new and younger members we will eventually need you to step up and replace those of us that have no choice but to age out of the day to day running of our council.

At our March 3rd meeting we will have a guest speaker from Special Olympics. Mary Bauer and an athlete, global messenger, will be speaking about the training for life campus to be built in Jefferson City in the future. The state K of C have asked all councils to assist to the combined sum of $1,000,000. Mary is trying to reach all councils in the state to talk about the training for life campus. Please plan to attend the March 3rd meeting and learn more about this project.

Thank You

Steve Wiederholt

Community Activities

The Snake Saturday Parade is just a few weeks awayThis year, we really want to impress the parade attendees with great representation from our council and any other council or the Assembly.  We ask everyone to come and participate with us.  Bring your wives, children, grandchildren, it doesn't matter, just get us the numbers.  If you can't or don't want to walk, you can ride in the wagon.  The parade is scheduled for Saturday March 14th in the morning, it will only cost you a few hours.  We will need Honor Guard, walkers (Tootsie Roll throwers), and riders in the wagon. In recent years our best showing was about 25 Knights, we would really like to increase our participation with great numbers.  Please plan on participating with us this year.

Insurance Check-Up for 2015

Where did 2014 go? It seems like it was summer yesterday and Easter was last week.

I hope you and your family had a great finish to 2014. Now, the first quarter of 2015 is flying by.

Hopefully, you've established a few goals for this year. I've learned a great tip regarding resolutions. First, write them down. It's not too late if you haven't already done this. Commit your goals to paper and post it someplace you will see it often. Writing down a goal is the first step towards achieving it. It may not make sense at first, but I'm sure you have heard stories of the success this simple task can bring. Whether your goal is to exercise more, give more to charity, read more or watch less television, you're more likely to accomplish it if you write it down.

Second, resolve to have an expert look at your finances. I recommend that you have a team of experts help you, and I would love to be the first you sit with. Let's schedule some time to meet together, and I, your professional Knights of Columbus insurance agent, will provide an "insurance check-up" (at no cost!) that will evaluate any gaps in your family's life insurance protection. Now might be the perfect time to fill those gaps, not later. Keep in mind that unlike many other products, you don't just need money to obtain life insurance; you also need good health, and no one knows when your health could change.

Did I mention my check-up is free of charge? When was the last time you received something for free that could provide value to you and your family for generations? Call me today.
