Runner Spotlight
This year Christian Boxdorfer (13) will run the Go! St. Louis half-marathon to benefit the Coalition.  His hope is to beat his last run time of 2 hr. 9 min.

"I was going to run anyway, and why not for a great cause like the Coalition's. To help the Coalition find families for children in foster care is a pretty special way for me to give back." When asked whether he's always been a young philanthropist, Christian said that he also volunteers at a soup kitchen twice a year and  is a member of the Boy Scouts. In the Scouts, he collects canned goods and cleans parks and picnic areas.

Christian started running this past summer and trains every week by running both short and long distances. "I like to mix it up so that I get in better shape," said Christian. He runs several 2-3 mile runs during the week, and 10 miles on the weekend.

"We were really excited that he was so self motivated to do this. He started running and training on his own," said Christian's mom, Rachel.

We are excited, too! Welcome to the "Home Team," Christian!

Dear Friends and Family,

I am running the Go! St. Louis [enter your event here; e.g., Marathon, Half-Marathon, Marathon Relay, 5K] to benefit the Foster & Adoptive Care Coalition. This is a cause that is close to my heart because [enter your reason here; e.g., they are creating and implementing groundbreaking adoption programs that get children out of foster care and into forever families as quickly as possible, OR I believe every child deserves A Place to Call Home, OR any personal reason]. Their programs have been featured in the New York Times and TIME Magazine and truly provide solutions in the world of child welfare!

My fundraising goal is $[enter your goal here], and you can easily help me reach it by clicking on the following link and making a donation of any amount: [enter your fundraising page link here]. I hope to reach my goal by March 1st. I truly appreciate your support as I run for the Coalition's Home Team!

Thank you so much.
