The California Chapter has overtaken the Illinois Chapter for the number one size ranking in February. The California Chapter has made a concentrated effort to meet member and non- member needs with their meetings, offerings and publications. The California Chapter is at 256 members, followed by the Illinois Chapter at 254 members, and the Iowa Chapter in third place with 183 members followed by Nebraska at 121 members.

Beginning April 9, 2014 ASFMRA will be installing a new web-based association management system to increase functionality and provide improved service for our members, our chapters, and our staff. We are extremely excited about the new database and the functionality that it will provide to better support current and future membership and chapter needs. During the installation phase, which will last approximately three weeks, connectivity to our website including education and meeting registrations, AgProLink, Become a Member, and Find a Land Expert will be limited and at times shut down completely. Get more details on this exciting transition.

| 2011-2013 CEU Cycle Update |
| ASFMRA has a tag line that promotes our members as the most trusted rural property professionals. Most members feel that strongly relates to the image our members portray. To that end, ASFMRA has been working tirelessly to help members keep their records current by providing regular reminders to members regarding their status. Almost all have responded and gotten their records updated with current CEU and Ethics information. At last count only 19 members remain out of compliance for this cycle. Notification will be sent to those members and to Chapter Secretaries in the next week. Please call our Denver office with any concerns or discrepancies. Thank you for your continued support. |
| 2014 Membership Directory |
|
The 2014 Membership Directory is updated, formatted, proofed, and at the printers. By the end of this week, this annual publication should be on its way to your mail box. When reviewing the time and costs involved in publishing the annual directory, it really encourages us to consider moving to a digital directory as soon as possible. Not only will it save paper, time, and money, it will always be at your fingertips and most important, it will always be current! The Membership Directory is shipped to members as well as lenders and other agricultural interests. Let us know if you have someone in your area who should receive a copy. Thank you for your contributions to this year's publication.

The Young Professionals Network (YPN) leadership group of ASFMRA has been working on a number of ideas for marketing the YPN and ASFMRA to college students and young professionals. The session this summer for YPN at the Summer Education Week (SEW) is planned to be focused on communication. Details are yet to be worked out with a sponsor. In addition, the team would like to increase the impact and awareness of ASFMRA at the local universities. ASFMRA is also encouraging Chapters to start their own YPN and then to look for a point person for contact from ASFMRA and the YPN leadership team.

Highlights of the Kansas Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers 51st Annual Winter Meeting
The meeting was held in Salina Kansas and was well attended. On February 19th the Kansas Chapter of ASFMRA conducted an 8 hour National USPAP continued education class taught by James Cannon, ARA out of Hutchinson, KS.
