There are many innovative green infrastructure projects being implemented across our watershed that we drive by each day and don't notice. TTF was recently awarded funds to bring these projects and practices to your attention.
With a grant from the Water Resources Education Network (WREN), a project of the League of Women Voters of PA Citizen Education Fund, we will offer a series of stormwater management project tours in our watershed, targeted to local stakeholders from township supervisors to public works staff to environmental advisory committee volunteers! The first tour is planned for this fall, so watch your email for news.

WE'RE CRAZY FOR MUSSELS!
Survey training in Pottstown, PA
We love freshwater mussels because they can filter up to 20 gallons of water per day and help species of fish breed -- that's a big service to our environment and drinking water!
TTF joined Partnership for the Delaware Estuary (PDE) in Pottstown for an informative day of training on how to teach volunteers to survey for mussels. During the training, we found some of the largest mussels that group leaders had ever seen! That's exciting news because freshwater mussels in our area are endangered.
TTF also participated in the recent Mussel Mania program with the Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center and PDE. Dr. Danielle Kreeger of PDE spoke about mussels, bringing some to the workshop so we could witness their water cleaning abilities. We topped off the day with a feast of salt water mussels and
Yards Brewery beer.
