"There was no such thing as half-trying. Whether it was running a race or catching a football, competing in school--we were to try. And we were to try harder than anyone else. We might not be the best, and none of us were, but we were to make the effort to be the best." -- Senator Robert F. Kennedy, in a tribute to his father, Joseph P. Kennedy

Everyone likes a good story. At Fairfax County Public Schools, some of the best stories we hear come from our school partners and the innovative ways that they support student learning. A partner is a businesses or community group that collaborates with one of our more than 200 schools.
The stories are as varied as the partnerships that businesses and schools enjoy. We hear about the employees of a business partner who volunteer to support a rocketry or robotics club, build a mentoring program, or provide their expertise and muscle to a school's weekend food assistance program. Other business partners share stories about seeing their donations of money or goods help a school fulfill their dreams. The one commonality: every story makes a difference in the lives of our students.
Share your stories and photos about the great things that you are doing in and around FCPS schools with the FCPS Business and Community Partnership team. If you want to learn more about becoming a partner with a school, complete the FCPS Partnership Starter web-based questionnaire. This matching tool takes less than five minutes to assess; it assesses your interests helps us introduce you to a potential FCPS partner school to begin discussions with no obligation to commit.
For more information on sharing your story or finding your match, visit the FCPS Business and Partnership Community Partnership website. |
