McLean Day 2013 is almost here! Come join the Chamber and your friends and neighbors. Over 17,000 McLean residents are expected to gather at Lewinsville Park from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm to celebrate our hometown! As in years past, the Chamber will have a table and space for members to put literature. We're currently looking for volunteers to help man the table and distribute literature and bags. Meetings Set on Fairfax Connector Silver Bus Line Service
The Fairfax County Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting in April in McLean to discuss Fairfax Connector routes 401, 402, 427 and 574.
The meeting will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. April 23 at McLean High School, 1633 Davidson Road. The department is holding six public meetings and one Ask Fairfax! online chat to discuss a Fairfax Connector proposed bus service plan that will coincide with the start of service on Metro's new Silver Line in December. The plan includes the creation of 12 new routes, the restructuring of 24 existing routes and the elimination of six routes.

Local Non-Profit Launches Young Professionals Council
PHILLIPS Programs creats YPC to provide young non-profit professionals an opportunity to hone and develop leadership skills
PHILLIPS Programs, a local nonprofit, is excited to announce the launch of our new Young Professionals Council (YPC). The YPC aims to provide young nonprofit professionals an opportunity to further develop their leadership and networking skills to better prepare them for future leadership. The YPC supports the overall mission and activities of PHILLIPS Programs for Children and Families. Acting as ambassadors of the organization, YPC members engage the community through volunteering, fundraising, networking, and advocacy opportunist targeted towards young professionals. The YPC is seeking interested young professionals, ages 22-35, from across the Washington, DC metro area. We are launching the YPC on Wednesday, May 1 with an event at Guarapo's in Arlington from 6:00-8:00pm.
