Real Estate Education Series

Sponsored by SunTrust SunTrust Mortgage Mortgage

Come get the low-down on the historic Transportation Funding bill that promises to finally bring relief to congested Northern Virginia roads.  How much valuable time do you lose in traffic driving to listing appointments, closings, buyer showings etc.?   Will the new transportation funding compromise finally fix things?   Where is the money coming from?  Is it true the Grantor's Tax on Real Estate Transactions could triple under the new law?

Get all your questions answered by Delegate Bob Brink, Virginia House of Delegates, 48th District, whose district covers parts of Arlington and since 2011, much of McLean.

*Please note, this session was originally scheduled for March 7, but was postponed due to snow. This is the NEW date.

*The Never Pedestrian Asphalt Orchestra of NYC Comes to The Alden
New York City's electrifyingly energetic Asphalt Orchestra

The Asphalt Orchestra
will lay concrete in The Alden in McLean when they bring their street band sounds indoors at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 6. Tickets are $25, $18 for MCC tax district residents.

The theatre is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue.
An iconoclastic 12-piece marching band conceived by Bang on a Can, Asphalt Orchestra premieres ambitious processional music from every corner of the music world, works that can coax funk from a funeral and would make a half-time show sparkle with sophistication. The group's repertoire ranges from music by pop wizard Bjrk, to jazz legend Charles Mingus, rock progressive Frank Zappa, Brazilian iconoclast songwriter Tom Z and Zimbabwean provocateur Thomas Mapfumo. The New York Times describes Asphalt Orchestra as "part parade spectacle, part half-time show, and part cutting edge contemporary music concert... exhilarating!"

Asphalt Orchestra's debut album was released in 2010 by Cantaloupe Music. The group is directed by Ken Thomson and Jessica Schmitz.

Tickets are on sale now! Tickets can be purchased in person at the Alden Theatre Box Office, or online at www.aldentheatre.org. For more information, call 703-790-0123, TTY: 711.
