*Professionals In Training (P.I.T.) Internship Program Update
The Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce and George Mason University are pleased to report that we have received seven applications from students interested in participating in this summer's Professionals In Training (P.I.T.) Internship program! The Public Relations Student Society of America at George Mason University is hosting a Communication Career Fair!
Companies, agencies, independent businesses and organizations are invited to participate. There is no cost. Tables, signage, and refreshments will be provided by the Department of Communications. Attendees also receive a free raffle ticket and are entered into a drawing.
Johnson Center, Dewberry Hall, on the GMU Campus in Fairfax.
This is a unique opportunity for students to meet and talk with prospective employers and discuss internships. Employers can connect with many of the University's finest and most intelligent students majoring in interpersonal and organizational communication, journalism, media production and criticism, persuasive and political communication, and public relations.

________________________ *MCCP Foundation celebrates milestone of $1 million worth of medical and dental care provided to uninsured children in Fairfax County at their annual gala.
The Medical Care for Children Partnership (MCCP) Foundation is proud to announce that it has provided over $1 million of medical and dental care to Fairfax C
ounty's children in low income, uninsured families. MCCP Foundation will be marking this milestone at their annual Dress Up with Grow-Ups Gala on April 6, 2013. The MC will be Charles Mann, former Redskin, three-time Super Bowl champion, businessman and philanthropist.
The gala will be held at The Mason Inn Conference Center and Hotel located on George Mason University's campus. Welcoming remarks will be presented by Dr. Ángel Cabrera, President of GMU.

Congratulations to Dane Scott and the staff at Seasons 52 Tysons Corner for ranking among the top performers in every measurable category in our company in the month of December. The Tysons Corner restaurant was the only Seasons 52 to do this.
Further, Seasons 52 Tysons Corner is now in the lead by a 50% margin as the top performing new restaurant of the Specialty Restaurant Group (which makes up 20% of Darden and consists of 5 different brands) for FY12.

The Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce will once again be producing reusable bags. We are offering you the opportunity to advertise on these bags!
As in the past, the bags will be distributed at McLean Day (May 18 at Lewinsville Park). The bags will also be distributed at next year's McLean Chocolate Festival: A Celebration of All Things Chocolate," sponsored by the McLean Rotary Club, and at Chamber events throughout the year.
This is a great way to get your businesses' name in front of thousands of McLean residents and business people--and support your Chamber, too!
We currently have a limited number of advertising spaces available on the bag, and are accepting advertisers on a first-come, first-served basis. Advertisers may choose from one of the following two options:

Potomac School Announces 14th Head of School
The Potomac School announced that John J. Kowalik,
 | John J. Kowalik will be the next Head of School beginning July 2013
|
Headmaster of The Peck School in Morristown, New Jersey, will be the next Head of School beginning July 2013. Larry Culp, Chair of Potomac's Board of Trustees, said, "John Kowalik is a wise and gifted educator, with a rare combination of inspirational leadership capabilities and exceptional management skills. He is the right leader to build on [current Head] Geoff Jones' remarkable achievements at Potomac during the last 13 years." For almost 30 years Kowalik has served as a teacher, coach and leader at two of the nation's outstanding independent schools. During his ten years as Headmaster of The Peck School, Kowalik led a rigorous academic program and cultivated a nationally recognized character formation initiative. Prior to joining The Peck School, he was Dean of School and Assistant Headmaster at Delbarton School in New Jersey. Kowalik taught Advanced Placement European History and Advanced Computer Applications, and was a successful football coach, compiling a 138-29 record in 16 seasons, including two state championships and nine conference championships. Kowalik's education includes the Executive Management Program at Dartmouth's Tuck Business School; an M.A. in Educational Administration from Columbia University; and a B.A. in Political Science from Williams College. He is a past trustee of the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools. "I am thrilled and honored to join the Potomac community and continue the strong growth and academic programs that have made Potomac one of the finest schools in the nation," said Kowalik. The Potomac School, founded in 1904, is a K-12 co-ed independent school located in McLean, Virginia. With a student population of 1015, the School sits on 90 acres and is located three miles from Washington, DC.
