Tip of the Week for April 16th, 2012

This Week's Tip:

Begin to teach students about following people's eye gaze in order to discern important social information (i.e. who's talking, who's listening, who's "got the floor," who should answer the question, who should talk next, etc.).

Autism Awareness Book Fairs

In cooperation with Barnes & Noble Booksellers, the AARC has held two book fairs for autism awareness. The Anchorage book fair was on March 31st, and the Fairbanks event was on April 14th. You can still shop online and support the Fairbanks book fair until April 19th; you just need to put in the book fair number (10504280) when you go to bn.com. All proceeds will go to buy books on autism that will be sent to libraries all over the state. This year's titles are Ann Drew Jackson, by Joan Clark, and Overcoming Autism, by Lynn Kern Koegel. Thank you for your support in helping raise awareness about autism in Alaska!

Book of the Week:
